John F Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States of America, is one of the most celebrated and idolized figures in the American history.

When Jack was two and a half years old, he got scarlet fever, a deadly illness. It was so contagious that Jack had to seperate from his mother and baby sister, Kathleen. Jack missed his mother a lot. To take his mind of her. His Irish nanny Kico Conby, told him wonder full stories about leprechauns and fairies. Usually Jack loved her stories. But he was so sick he could hardy listen, instead he clutched his favorite teddy bear tightly and drifted out of sleep.

Jack didn’t get better his parents rushed him to the hospital in boston. Strange doctors and nurses came and went all the time. There was know one he knew. He spent weeks in the hospital fighting for every breath. He’s worried parents hoped and prayed that there little boy would get better. Though Jack survived he was a weak sickly child. He suffer from colds, flu, stomach aches, and allergies, as well as more serious illnesses like bronchitis and diphtheria. This means that Jack was a very sick boy and had a hard childhood.

¨To while away the long, boring days spent in bed, he read manny books, one after another. His favorite was the long story of King Arthur and the knights of the round table. Here was a story were he could get lost: a noble King; his brave mean; and his desire to uphold truth, honesty, and justice. Jack´s copy grew taters from all the use. When he was not sick in bed, Jack tried to be more like his older brother, playing sports riding bikes and so much more. But jack was too sick and to week to ride bikes and play sports. ¨ ( Who was JFK) This makes me think that although John was a sick boy he was very intelligent he read books after another and read 1,000 words a minute.

“After graduating from Choate and spending one semester at Princeton, Kennedy transferred to Harvard University in 1936. There, he repeated his by then well-established academic pattern, excelling occasionally in the classes he enjoyed, but proving only an average student due to the omnipresent diversions of sports and women.”(Biography). Handsome, charming and blessed with a radiant smile, Kennedy was incredibly popular with his Harvard classmates. His friend Lem Billings recalled, ‘Jack was more fun than anyone I’ve ever known, and I think most people who knew him felt the same way about him.'(who was John f Kennedy) Kennedy was also an incorrigible womanizer. He wrote to Billings during his sophomore year telling him that he could get women as often and as free as he wants which he felt was a step in the right direction. This means that JFK was a ladies man.

¨Shortly after graduating from Harvard, Kennedy joined the U.S. Navy and was assigned to command a patrol torpedo boat in the South Pacific. On August 2, 1943, his boat, PT-109, was rammed by a Japanese warship and split in two. Two sailors died and Kennedy badly injured his back. Hauling another wounded sailor by the strap of his life vest, Kennedy led the survivors to a nearby island, where they were rescued six days later. The incident earned him the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for ‘extremely heroic conduct’ and a Purple Heart for the injuries he suffered. However, Kennedy’s older brother, Joseph Kennedy Jr., who had also joined the Navy, was not so fortunate. A pilot, he died when his plane blew up in August 1944.

Handsome, athletic, intelligent and ambitious, Joseph Kennedy Jr. had been pegged by his father as the one among his children who would some day become president of the United States. In the aftermath of Joe Jr.’s death, John F. Kennedy took his family’s hopes and aspirations for his older brother¨ (biography). Upon himself. John F Kennedy got married to Jacqueline Kennedy, on september 12, 1953. They had two kids together one boy and one girl the girl was the oldest.¨ ( Biography) this means that John was a really good at driving the PT 109 and really wanted to help America.

¨John F. Kennedy was sworn in as the 35th president on January 20, 1961. In his inaugural speech he spoke of the need for all Americans to be active citizens. There were many times when the struggle between the Soviet Union and the United States could have ended in nuclear war, such as in Cuba during the 1962 missile crisis or over the divided city of Berlin.¨ ( Who was JFK). This makes me think that John wanted to take after his brother of being a president because he died.

In conclusion JFK was a very special guy and he been through some rough times when he was sick and how he couldnt be like a normal kid. JFK didn’t let his rough times put him down he went to college and got accepted to the best collage in America. John went into war as a navy and he was one of the best pt 109 pilots. After the war his brother had died and JFK wanted to fulfill his brothers dream as being a president, and son John went to be a president and he got elected. What i think about JFK is that he was a remarkable guy.
