In college, your life is filled with stressors like classes, papers, reports, and exams. While your primary focus is getting an education, all work and no play made Jack a dull boy. You must strike a balance between your studies and having fun. You may be wondering what you can do to stay entertained while at college? You are in luck, here is the college student’s guide to entertainment.

Attend a Party

One thing that you can be sure of is that somewhere on campus there is a party taking place. From fraternity and sorority parties to pep rallies for the varsity teams, parties are always happening. Check out notice boards and social media to stay in the loop and know where the party is.

Watch a Movie Marathon

Whether it’s at the local movie theater or with your closest friends gathered around your laptop in your dorm room, you can’t go wrong with a movie marathon. With streaming services like Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. the possibilities are endless. Watch new releases, classics, nostalgic childhood favorites, or if you don’t know what to watch search for the best Netflix movies.

Go out and Watch a Local Show

Many college towns are becoming a hub for live entertainment such as musicals, plays, stand up shows or small concerts. These events are often free or very cheap.

Attend an Event

Whether it’s a ted talk, film festival, a workshop, etc. on-campus events play a key role in shaping the social and intellectual fabric of campus life. You can get to meet new and exciting people or learn something new.

Spend Time Outdoors

Immersing yourself in nature is a great way to relieve stress. If your college is surrounded by magnificent scenery, take a hike, jog or run through it. You can also plan excursions to other sites and turn it into a weekend thing.

Play Video, Card or Board Games

Whether alone or with friends, games can be a fun way to stay entertained. Host game night where you and our friends can compete in games like charades, scrabble, ludo, etc. You can also try computer simulation games like Need for Speed, Skyrim, Call of Duty, PUBG, etc.

Tour the Local Scene

Act like a tourist and tour the town. You will be surprised at how much the local scene has to offer in many college towns. You can go sightseeing, take a food tour, attend a local music show or visit a fair.

Try Something New that Challenges You

There so many things you can do while at college. Taking a dance class, for instance, can help you get more confident with your dancing and is a lot of fun. Try a new form of exercise like pilates or yoga. It is a great way to meet people and keep fit. For the daredevil in you craving an adrenaline rush, you can try something you are afraid of. Whether it is skydiving or bungee jumping, grab your pals, and confront your fears.

No matter how you like spending your free time in college, there many options to keep you thoroughly entertained. You do not have to be drunk or pretend to be someone else to have a good time. Try some of these ideas outs next time you want to be entertained.
