The Holocaust started in 1933 and ended in 1945, it was an event where Jews were traumatized and where 6 million jews were murdered. These people were murdered by the Germany nazi in World War 2, Adolf Hitler was the leader of all of this. Adolf Hitler believed that Jews were a burden to the world and that they did not deserve to live. Jews were transported from their homes to / concentration camps for 3 years, from 1942 to 1945.

While some people had passed away from starvation or illness, Jews were the only ones who were gassed. This terrifying and cruel event came to an end on May 8, 1945 but survivors found it hard to return to their homes because many were returning without their families.Invasion of Poland: The Invasion of Poland occurred on September 1, 1939, when Germany bombarded the land on foot and in the air. Adolf Hitler wanted to rule all of Poland and would  do whatever he could to make that happen. Hitler invaded Poland using the “Blitzkrieg” method, which means an intense military.

Once Hitler had made his way into Poland he wanted to make sure no one could get him out, so he set up security forces. The Polish army made many wrong moves when coming to get their land back and they did not have the proper equipment needed. Not long after Hitler invaded Poland did Britain declare war on them. Britain decided that enough was enough and declared war on Poland on September 3, 1939.

Pearl Harbor occurred near Honolulu, Hawaii and it is a U.S naval base that was attacked on December 7, 1941. Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese on a early Sunday morning. Japanese forces succeeded in damaging approximately 20 navy ships, 8 battleships, and about 300 planes.

Approximately 2,500 citizens were killed and over 1,000 were hurt during this event. Pearl Harbor was violent and traumatizing. On December 8, 1941 the day after this all took place the president at the time, Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan. The American citizens were adamant to go to war. Operation Overlord (aka D-Day) June 6, 1944 is when Operation Overlord occurred, and the allied forces invaded Europe. The allied forces included the United States, China, the Soviet Union, India, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, France, and last but not least Britain.

Over 150,000 allied forces were set to travel to Europe either by airplanes or ships. After waiting for days for acceptable weather conditions to fight in, it finally happened on June 5 at 9:45 at night. The allies and Normandy fought a brutal battle for a total of three days until June 8, 1944. On June 8, 1944 it was over and the allies walked away with a victory. The allies were successful but that came with consequences, over 400,000 german and allied troops were injured, killed, or disappeared.

Germany fought a long and hard battle during world war 2 but could no longer keep fighting in early 1945. Adolf Hitler did everything in his power to take control and defeat the other countries, however he did not succeed and he knew defeat was in his near future. Adolf Hitler did not want to live to see the day of his defeat and knew there was nothing left for him to try or do so,  he killed himself. With Adolf Hitler dead it left Karl Donitz in charge of Germany and in charge of surrendering the nazis. Karl Donitz signed the surrender papers and just like that, the war was finally over.
