To begin, Leonardo da Vinci was a genius and a true renaissance man owning to his extensive talents that extended far beyond painting and drawing. Following the footsteps of the past renaissance humanists of his time, Leonardo had developed a moderate interest in establishing the relationship between art and science.

Secondly, there are many people that say that Leonardo was a mysterious man and there is a lot we don’t know about him as a person. His mind and personality seems extraordinary. The only real mystery is how he was able to accomplish so many works of genius, in such a short time. Before his death, Leonardo left a lot of his manuscript, but only “one fifth of his manuscript survived”( GIUNTI EDITORE). People that read about him can say that he probably was not a shy person, and that he voiced his thoughts in his notebook. Today we have a very good idea as to where and what Leonardo was doing for the majority of his life, and there are also existing records in Florence, Rome, Milan and other places that help cover those mystery pieces that we don’t know about Leonardo da vinci.

Thirdly, Leonardo was a man who was motivated by curiosity and had a will to succeed in his works, he accomplished what he set out to accomplish. The first skill that Leonardo mastered was the art of painting. people said that he may have started painting at the age of 14. His favorite things were animals. According to (Dmitry Sergeyevich Merezhkovsky) Leonardo was a vegetarian. I also think he was because he liked animals, especially horses and he drew about them. Leonaredo was a diverse man; he expanded his mind throughout different fields that include muis, literature, history, antony, geology, astronomy. To continue, Leonardo taught himself math because math was the most useful tool since he had to apply it to most of his work, like the MONA LISA painting and others.

Fourthly, Leonardo was born on APRIL 15, 1452 as a bastard in anchiano tuscany. His father was a well respected Florentine notary and his mother was a peasant. He was raised by his father and his stepmother until he and his father moved to their family house in vinci, where he gets the last name vinci from. Since his father was a well known man no one think that leonardo would be anything because he was “born out of wedlock” (biography.com leonardo da vinci) no one could have foretold that leonardo would have grown to be a mastermind that would redefine the renaissance and be so well known. Outside that his family would not pay his education, so he taught himself.

To continue, at the age of fourteen, da vinci started a long apprenticeship with andrea del verrochio. A well recognized artist in florence. Under his wing, he acquired many skills that influenced his art such as metalworking, carpentry, molding, painting, and drawing. By the time he was twenty, he gain membership in Florence’s guild of saint luke and created his own workshop where he later hired many apprentices and would make them his pupils.
