One thing that Hadfield really inspired me, it was his enthusiasm emphasized in this chapter which really drove home his fascination with space to an entirely new level of respect. It was his when he said “It was my chance to stop telling people how inspiring the space program is, and start showing them”. This marked a dramatic shift in the narrative by expressing a new hobby that Hadfield would embark on that would eventually reach unexpected heights. This would not only further his career, but demonstrate his overall character with more respect in the astronaut community and also in the social media sphere. This is furthered along when Hadfield is able to say that “It wasn‘t just that my photos were improving, though they were I was taking 100 pictures a day and starting to develop a better eye“.
This demonstrates that he truly is motivated by something that gives him the ability to mix work with play This is very important because as stated from my first reflection I made, Hadfield talked about the importance of doing something you love and never truly having to work a day in your life. This quote marks the completion of l-Iadfield’s journey towards true happiness in doing what you love, The second thing I found important from the reading was the expression of Hadfield being extremely proud of his son. He explains that his son “was a one-man, unpaid band, drumming up excitement about and interest in the space program in a way that made me both proud and grateful”.
What really touched me was when he recited the poem he read at his father‘s memorial this was probably hard for him to repeat it all again but he did it . They say every poem you hear you take something out of it and what I took out of it is that he wants his father’s memories to live on and he said at the time “My father is here with me “, Which says to me that he takes his father with him everywhere with him in order to be great even if he is not there physically. Sometimes people don‘t realize poetry is a very powerful thing you get and receive something out it every time whether it‘s shown or small. I learned to allot about Martin Espada in just one book and just a few poems and I can tell he is a very nice caring man and I will remember him for his poetry and how he inspired me not to be afraid of what other people think and just do what you love.
I thought this was very special for the both of them but more so for Chris Hadfieldt Everything was able to tie itself together in his life and fit together neatly too. He was able to mix his job with pleasure and include his family in something that obviously meant the world to them too I think it is truly amazing to be able to capture that entire bundle while many people in the world would seek out that very opportunity Even Hadfield himself knows how lucky he is and expresses his gratitude in the strongest sense he possibly can. Finally the last point I remembered from the text is another comment on his crew that further expresses that everything is right in his life He says that “we were a happy crew and, not coincidentally, a highly productive one”.
This is also a special realization for Hadfield because it expresses that he has and continues to get along perfectly with his crew members. Being able to interact with coworkers is essential to being productive, but there of course is a much stronger emphasis on that concept having them being astronauts in all. ljust want to take the opportunity to express just how incredible how far he has come This chapter pushes the direction along and foreshadows the hearing conclusion with thoughts of happiness and blissi At this point he is just breezing through his career by marking remarkable moments that mean a lot to him.
