Some of his followers went in the path of Hidalgo, José María Morelos y Pavón, Mariano Matamoros, and Vicente Guerrero, making more revolts against the Spanish and the Royalists. The Royalists were surprisingly the ones that surrendered and made up to the Mexicans of Spanish descent and brought independence in 1820. The Liberals took power in Spain and the new government promises changes in the Mexican revolutionary.
