Medical Marijuana has become a popular subject today. It is legalized at some places. We may have wondered or thought that if medical marijuana should be legalized on the place where you live right now. Well I think I do wonder about if medical marijuana should have been legalized in the Virgin Islands.
After thinking for a while, I realize that it should be legalized. I really think that it should not be legalized because it is important or helpful. Medical marijuana may treat some of the health problems that some people are facing. This drug can also have economic benefits that it will bring to the government. That’s why I think that this should be legalized.
Medical marijuana is important because it relieves symptoms of some or treat diseases and conditions. I think marijuana is very important because it can help anyone that suffers from severe pains and other health problems. Medical marijuana uses the marijuana plant or chemicals in it to treat diseases or conditions. It’s basically the same product as recreational marijuana, but it’s taken for medical purposes. The marijuana plant contains more than 100 different chemicals called cannabinoids. Each one has a different effect on the body.
Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) are the main chemicals used in medicine. THC also produces the “high” people feel when they smoke marijuana or eat foods containing it. CBD is another compound in marijuana that is not psychoactive. CBD is thought to be responsible for most of the medical benefits. The active chemicals in medical marijuana are like chemicals the body makes that are involved in appetite, memory, movement, and pain. This drug is important because it can help to relieve some of the health conditions that some people have.
Medical marijuana is used to treat several different conditions. This includes Alzheimer’s disease, Appetite loss, Cancer, Crohn’s disease, Eating disorders, Epilepsy, Mental health conditions, Muscle spasms, Nausea, Pain and many other conditions. Marijuana can reduce anxiety, and it can also relieve pain. It is commonly used by cancer and AIDS patients to stimulate hunger; combat nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy or other drug therapy and reduce pain. Benefits are seen in immune function, emotional and mood regulation, vascular health and digestive function. There are still side effects of medical marijuana and its according to the doses a person takes. The side effects of medical marijuana are minimal when used at low dose and include dry mouth and fatigue.
At higher doses, side effects include dizziness, paranoia, and psychoactive effects. Medical marijuana should be use with discipline or self-control. Medical marijuana is mostly beneficial to our health, it can help some patients that are suffering. That’s why I think that it should be legalized because it has many benefits for our health.
