Having to read the Diary of Anne Frank in my english class has changed my life so much. Some people like to take life for granted while others take it seriously while they’re here. Being able to read and somewhat understand the hard life of an innocent 13 year old girl has allowed me to understand that it’s time to be serious about everything now.
To begin, the Diary of Anne Frank was a diary that was personally wrote and edited by Anne Frank herself. Throughout the diary, she described the key points day by day in her life leading up to her captivity. Anne Frank’s diary has helped me so much because it made me start asking myself questions. I never really could understand why an entire government would want to kill millions of people just because of the religion they practice and because their physical appearances were different from theirs. The way the jews and the other people were treated was not fair.
On the other hand, this diary has changed my life because I think of Anne Frank like myself; she was a teenager, she liked to talk, she had big dreams, and she had a big mouth that could sometimes get her in trouble. Being able to relate to what she had been through kind of made me feel it spiritually. Anne always wrote something positive in her diary even on the tough and scary days. Through all of the rough times, Anne had always reminded herself that there was good in the world. Reading her positive words knowing that she was hiding from the Nazis with seven other people in a tight space was very surprising to me. The second time I read her diary made me want to strive to see the world the way Anne saw it. Every time I feel like something is going wrong in my life, I refer to Anne’s diary to remind me that despite the ugliest, there’s always beauty in the world.
In conclusion. Anne Frank’s diary will always be a great reference for me whenever I’m in need for some positive words. She has inspired me into becoming a better person than what I am today. Despite all of the hardships Anne had to face while living in the annex, she never went a day without writing in her diary. Anne has inspired me to try an make my environment a better place so I can prevent a catastrophic event like the Holocaust from happening in my community.
