Bipolar disorders are a disorder that causes severe mood changes in the person affected. If you have been diagnosed with a bipolar disorder you may often feel sudden mood changes or differences in the way you act around others. These mood changes can be manic highs and depressive lows that affect energy and how you think during the day. When you are experiencing a manic high you mostly feel very happy and full of energy. When you are experiencing a depressive low you are feeling very sad out of energy and hopeless.

There are 4 basic types of bipolar disorders bipolar I disorder, bipolar II disorder, cyclothymic disorder, and other unspecified disorders that don’t fit in the top three. Bipolar I disorders are defined by manic episodes that last at least 7 days or have manic symptoms that are severe enough that the person needs immediate hospital care. Bipolar II disorders are defined by a pattern of depressive episodes and hypomanic episodes, but not full maniac.

Cyclothymic disorders are defined by numerous periods of hypomanic symptoms as well numerous periods of depressive symptoms lasting for at least 2 years, but the symptoms don’t match the diagnostic requirements for a hypomanic episode and a depressive episode. other unspecified disorders that don’t fit in the top 3 are disorders that are bipolar disorders but the symptoms don’t match the other three.

Some of the main signs and symptoms of the disorder are mania and depression. Mania is when you are feeling very happy full of energy. Which can lead to people noticing if you just seem to be in a better mood or just to full of energy. Depression is when you feel sad and hopeless and just don’t have that much energy.

In between these episode you will most likely act normally and and just do stuff the way you normally do it. These symptoms can also be misinterpreted as a different disorder like DID ( Dissociative identity disorder) or BPD (Borderline personality disorder).

Side effects of the disorder if not treated could be suicide or deep depression. Those are not the only risks to having a bipolar disorder some are the fact that when you have it you are more susceptible to diseases. If you have this on side affect could be you no longer being social or being to social with others. Based on what scientists have found the disorder can be caused by something being wrong with the brain so that means that the person who has it is likely to have something wrong with their brain. Most of the time if someone in the family has it then it is likely that someone else will get it as well.

Bipolar disorders can be treated with many thing to make it bearable if found early before it becomes too big of a problem. There are many way it can be treated but it can’t be removed it will stay with you for the rest of your life. One was is with medicine you can use antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and typical antipsychotics with permission from your doctor. Another way could be psychotherapy or talk therapy because it can provide support and guidance to people with the disorder. Another if you have trouble sleeping the sleeping agents could help you get better. One way to help is to keep a life chart and record the symptoms you had that day and other things that could be use full.
