Since the previous centuries, nursing changed dramatically. Leadership has become more understood and it is important that the leader in nursing is culturally competent. There’s many leadership techniques needed to create synergy in culturally diverse workplace.

Creating Synergy

Medical Personnel being culturally diverse can bring different strengths into the work field to bring forth cultural synergy. The different types of leaderships work together to create synergy in culturally diverse workplace.

Leadership Techniques

In the journal, there are a lot leadership techniques explained. There are advantages as well as disadvantages in the different leadership techniques. ‘Leaders define and maintain values, goals, mission and vision of organization and thus they form organizational culture.’ (Ayden, 2018). The article explains that one of the best nursing leadership techniques to create synergy in culturally diverse workplace is democratic because they are great at communicating and understanding. Leaders help to mold the employees to be culturally diverse and help to promote a culturally diverse workplace.

Importance of Leadership

Being a leader you must be culturally competent and accept all patients. Fellow nurses observe and also implement what leaders do. The nursing community as a whole, communicate and strive towards improvement in their overall patient’s outcome or even receive additional data to properly diagnose and treat our patients. For example, transformational leadership role inspire positive changes in those who follow. Together they are energetic as well as enthusiastic. I look at the leader as the motivator. So teaching other members under transformational leader would make it more interesting to learn for the team. Another leadership style that would help during the learning process is transactional style. This leadership role is going to make a short term goal. (Last Name, Year)

Changes in Nursing

Nursing leadership have changed from the past to the present. Leadership in the past had no regulations. The nurses didn’t use what they knew or what they are. Then, everybody had their own leadership style but didn’t know it. Florence Nightingale changed the medical field with her leadership of innovation. She was not quiet and acted as a leader. Now leaders with different leadership styles, work together as a team to make a better work environment and better environment for the patient. In the present, there are now different levels of nursing leadership that have developed throughout the years that all work together as a team. For example, charge nurse, nurse manager and house nurse.
