One of the main abuse to animals is animal testing. Just think how would you feel if u were the one having makeup and other products tested on you? Or how would you feel if you were stuck in a tiny cage, given only a little amount of food, just enough to stay alive?

Every once in a while you’re taken to get your hair shaved off and something rubbed into your skin that could potentially make it never grow again or maybe it burns and makes your skin bleed. Well this is what it’s like for animals in an animal testing facility. Between 17 and 22 million animals are put into testing every year. Some are purposely blinded, or given a disease and go through a lot of pain just so we can see if something is okay for our hair. What would you rather, make up or save a living breathing animal?

The harmful use of animals in experiments is not only cruel but also often ineffective. Animals don’t get as many of the diseases that people do, such as major types of heart disease, many types of cancer, HIV, Parkinson’s disease, or schizophrenia. Instead, signs of these diseases are artificially induced in animals in laboratories in an attempt to imitate the human disease. Yet, such experiments belittle the complexity of human conditions which are affected by wide-ranging variables such as genetics, deeply-rooted psychological issues and different personal experiences.

A lot of the treatments showing ‘promise’ in animals rarely work in humans. Not only is time, money and animals’ lives being wasted (with a huge amount of suffering), but effective treatments are being mistakenly discarded and harmful treatments are getting through. Testing on animals isn’t fair animals should have the same rights we do.
