In the United States, we are known to be the land of the free, the world’s strongest country that is known to make many dreams come true. We have a great sense of education and how it should be used in our daily lives. Even if we are known to be such a great country, the country itself still has issues that end up giving a negative effect to those that live in this economy, especially towards future generations that come to grow and learn more about this world. They have to face these hard challenges that the world has provided for these people, and because they have to face these challenges, they have to fight a great battle to succeed.

Yet to those who fail, they begin to lose hope, they try to seek help, and they feel left alone. Some schools have generally understood this as a problem, which is why they have opened up programs, but it seems as though not all schools see the importance of this. Though not all programs may be able to help, there are effective teen suicide programs that teens need to help with issues such as bullying, home abuse, and academic pressure. Schools should provide these programs because it will reduce the amount of suicide among teenagers and it will give encouragement to teenagers to pursue their lives.

Teen suicide is a common issue among teenagers they think by committing suicide it will help them to feel relieved of their depression. Most teenagers like to be lonely, which will increase their depression to a higher level. People need to be careful when they talk to them or how they treat them. When it becomes a problem, people need to take it carefully otherwise teenagers might hurt themselves.

When it comes to teenagers, they think that they can solve their problems when they will commit suicide, teenagers never think that they will hurt other people as well, by committing a suicide they always like to take the easy way because of their depression. According to Kathryn Murphy, “Depression can so distort a teen’s view of life that he concentrates only on his failures and disappointments(2005) ” (4). Teenagers have a different thinking than adults while they are teenagers. They think that everyone is against them, and they do not know if they are doing the right thing or the wrong thing. They just want to prove that they are always right.

Unfortunately, teens are always under pressure to succeed academically, and they are facing bullying and home abuse. That always affects teenagers minds with hate and causes problems to others. To solve this problem they have to talk to someone they trust with their secrets and do not rush to the solution of suiciding. Life can get rough sometimes and teenagers will think that everyone is against them, but is not the end of the world; they can solve their problems really easily.

Being a teenager is hard. Having all the pressure throughout the years thinking that they will never have a normal life, according to Mary Jane Anderson “Feelings of being down or blue are part of being a teenager, but when they are ignored or minimized, feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness, and serious depression can set in” (4). That is why schools should provide after-school programs to stand with teenagers who have this issue. Finally, by providing these programs, they will help teenagers who suffer from depression toward bullying and family abuse.

Suicide is not a joke, especially when it comes down to abusive occasions such as bullying and family abuse. It is a locked cage you cannot get out of, especially if you have lived on with these throughout your life. There’s either the type of life where you have the abused life at home and there’s no support outside and you feel stuck, or there are times when you are being bullied at school but your family and friends are not supportive at all.

The pain and depression can burst out and sooner you want to end your life. An abusive life happens for various of reasons; causes include because sometimes parents are alcoholics, drug addicts, or they’re just unhappy with their lives and seem to take out most of their anger towards their kids. Same goes with the bully from school: he or she bullies because they have lived an unhappy life as well, and they probably are treated the same way at home, “Statistics, in Brief, presents estimates of student criminal victimization at school by selected student characteristics and school conditions, experiences with being bullied, school security measures, and student avoidance behavior” (Lessene 2).

The first reason why high schools should provide programs to reduce suicide prevention is that it will help the student have more support into their life. There are times where your parents are sometimes not there for you due to the time they don’t have. According to Kim, “results revealed that the parent-adolescent relationship and academic stress experienced by students during 1 year were significant predictors of the levels of stress felt in subsequent years” (Kim 1). This proves that parents are not really supportive at times due to the amount of stress they already have. She also states that that the closer the parent-adolescent relationship, the greater was the intensity of the adolescents’ academic stress (Kim 1).

Organizing this program will not only be supportive but will end abusive relationships faster. According to Martine,” Maternal support acted as a protective factor as the conditional indirect effects of child sexual abuse on mental health via cyberbullying and bullying were reduced in cases of high maternal support” (Martine). With help, anything is possible to fix. Rates of cyberbullying in the past 6 months were twice as high in sexually abused teens compared to non-victims both for girls (33.47 vs. 17.75%) and boys (29.62 vs. 13.29%) (Martine 1). Not only will these programs solve teen suicide problems but they would capture the victims as well.

The most important reason why there should be a teen suicide prevention program at the school is that teens are under pressure to succeed academically. The pressure can lead to depression, they often dwell on what they feel is their unlucky and helpless lot in life and feel failure, repeatedly leading them to believe that their situation is unsolvable. The issue of high school suicide has negative impacts on the entire community, but it impacts the school community a significant amount more.

The reason schools should be so positioned with this program is because they have a lot of contact with teens and observational in nature. Grown people and peers within the school can arrange timely intervention and treatment for teen suicide victims. In a study conducted in 2005 by Kathryn Murphy “Most teens and adults considering suicide respond best when treated with a combination of medications and psychotherapy”(3).

The result will be significantly helpful also teen suicide is preventable but I will ask a good amount of work. In order to prevent suicide among school students school should have according to the study in 2005 done by Kathryn Murphy, “ therapy, meeting with a professional to discuss issues and feelings, is a vital part of treatment. Sometimes just periodic sessions with a mental health provider are enough to help the teen manage overwhelming feelings that can lead to suicidal behavior”(3). These are clear pieces of evidence that why schools should have teen suicide program.

Another reason there should be a teen suicide program is that helps depressed teens. According to the 2015 study by Mary Jane Anderson “Tee Pathos is involved in the strategy of convincing the audience by invoking feelings through their own imaginations.n suicide is the second leading cause of death among 15-19-year-olds in the United States”(2). If teen suicide is the second leading cause of death, schools should have a program to prevent it.

It has become a big concern for college students and parents. For instance, a teens student who goes college-level program has a lot of responsibility for their futures, financial, family and school. All those can lead to being depressed. And again, according to the 2015 study by Mary Jane Anderson said: “In the U.S., there are over 5000 suicides completed annually by young menLogos, the statement above uses specific numbers. Numbers are sound and logical and women between the ages of 15-24”(3). Because the reason for that is there is a lot of problems that cause death but most of them have a program that can prevent death.

But teen suicide doesn’t have a program which is where most needed. The ages between from 15-24 are the most difficult faith of life. Because in those age ranges are most likely they will face the reality of their life. After the age of 15, they start to think they have to work, some of them will start college that might lead them to be away from family and also some of them might move out from their family house. But then, when it didn’t turn out the way they expect it. then for some teens suicide may appear to be a solution to their problems.

Adults may think that teens themselves are strong enough to push through this problem. They may believe that these things aren’t as big of an issue because of how they lived their lives, but times have changed and also new methods of depression have developed and they think they have a sort of connection with this problem but they really don’t, and the numbers aren’t going away and teens are still ending themselves. This is why having a teen suicide program at high schools should be a priority for all districts. So that they can have an even better chance of keeping teenagers away from committing such horrible things.
