Egypt was founded on June 18, 1953. It is a country linking with Northeast Africa located by the Mediterranean Sea. It is considered home to one of the oldest civilizations on earth. Egypt is known for their pyramids, mummys, the sphinx, their language, and all ancient monuments. There are lots of interesting information to learn about such as the Gods, their queens, the Abu Simbel Panorama, Alexander the Great, etc.

The name Egypt come from the Greek Aegypots, which is the pronunciation of the ancient Egyptian name ( Hwt-Ka-Ptah), which means “Mansion of the Spirit of Ptah”, originally the name of the city called Memphis. Memphis is the first capital of Egypt. To the ancient Egyptians, their country was known as Kermet, which means “Black Land”. Then later, it was known as “Misr” which means “country” and still named Misr till the present day.

Egypt has a long history, and it goes back far beyond the written word, the story about the Gods, monuments which made the culture so popular today. The written history of the land begins between 3400- 3200 BCE. The city of Xois was considered ancient by 3100-2181 BCE and is inscribed on the famous palermo stone. In other countries worldwide, the small agrarian communities became centralized and grew into large urban centers. In the Early Dynastic Period in Egypt the unification of the North and South kingdoms under the king Menes, (which is also known as Meni or Manes) of upper egypt who conquered lower egypt way back in 3118-3150 BCE.

The Gods

From the Predynastic period in egypt, they believed that the Gods defined the Egpytian culture. The early egyptian creation myth tells about the God Atum who stood in the midst of swirling chaos before the beginning of time and later spoke the creation into existence. Atum was then accompanied by the internal force of “Heka” (magic) it personified the god Heka and by other spiritual forces it would animate the world. All of the gods and their responsibilities went back to ma’at and heka.

Ma’at was personified as a deity, the goddess of the ostrich feather , to every king promised his full abilities and his devotion. The king accomplice with the god Horus in life and Osiris in death, but it was based upon a myth, and it became very popular in egypt history. Osiris and his wife/sister Isis were the original monarchs who governed the world. Osiris brother grew envious towards him and murdered him, but his wife Irisis brought him back to life.
