The Criminal Justice system is created with the means of upholding the safety of people, establishing order among people, and to make sure justice is served where it is due. The components of the Criminal Justice system act independently. The system is used to identify, prosecute, and punish those who break the law if necessary.

The system is there so that someone who committed a violation of the law could be identified and depending on the seriousness, they could be taken through a court process to identify whether that person is guilty and establishing the right action to take is not all up to one component. The law must be regulated to ensure people behave and to protect the well being of everyone else. Everyone plays a role within the lines of the law and must follow the rule of law and must understand “the idea that every person is subject to the law, even those that make the law, interpret the law, and enforce the law” (McKee, 2018).

Each component plays a large part in the Criminal Justice system. The lowest level of law enforcement protects the communities, they choose whether a situation should elevate to the next level, and they also help gain evidence for courts. Law enforcement also controls the jail systems for those who have been arrested or waiting for court. Courts help identify whether a person has violated a law or not.

Judges aren’t the only person who makes up a court and makes the decisions, it is made up of many other people with different duties. If a person is then convicted by courts, they then move on to the third level of the justice system which is Corrections. Corrections would be the level where some sort of punishment is given that “promotes public safety, fairness, and rehabilitation” (Coons & Thom, 2017).

As for the system as a whole, there are a few things that could be turned into something greater. It could be looked at as being reasonable and understandable rather than unsuitable and merciless. The view in which we want to see the Criminal Justice isn’t exactly how it really is. Violations had been made in areas where for many years, the country has taken seriously for years.

The IV Amendment states “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized” (Mckee, 2018). There were many situations have happened where this Amendment have been violated. I believe that the amendments should be focused more on and that punishments should be modified for smaller crimes so that there is more helping and understanding than punishing.
