Nowadays, college students and even some high school students became thrill seekers and adventurous. They often try new things like drinking alcohol and partying because it can be a way of life. Some of them eventually often drink alcohol but some of them don’t try again. Many might think these activities represent simple fun with few troubles, but drinking can have a serious negative impact on a student’s health. Drinking occasionally might be fine, but excessive alcohol use can result in several undesired consequences. Aside from health risk, students who drink too much alcohol may also damage or affect their academic performance. There are already many lifestyle and other variables which may related to academic performance. Alcohol use is only part of the picture.

Otherwise, many of the Grade 12 students start to experience adolescence those ages between 15-18 where in peer pressure, curiosity and experimenting is manifest. As they become more curious, drinking alcohol can significantly affect in every aspects of their live especially in their academic performance.

The objective of this study is to know if there is a correlation between alcohol drinking and in the grades of Grade 12 students of HAU. This study will also be for everyone to gain knowledge on the effects of excessive alcohol drinking that can affect the grades and academic performance of the Grade 12 students.
