The Monkey’s Paw and Life is Sweet at Kumanensu are similar In that they both deal With magic, but the Monkey’s Paw deals With black magic and Life is Sweet at Kumanensu deals with spiritual magic. Both of these stories had magic in them but the magic type was very different. The Monkeys Paw had Black magic in it. The Monkey’s Paw had a Paw that was said to be cursed. If you made a wish with the paw your Wish would come true but there would be great repercussions. After the man wished for 200 pounds his son was killed by machinery, Mr. White and Mrs. White blamed the paw and believed that the paw was cursed. The other Wishes they made were to make Herbert alive again and to send him back.

The Monkey’s paw was a very good story that didn’t actually tell you that there was magic in it. The author let the reader believe what he wanted. Life is Sweet at Kumanensu was a story about spiritual magic. The story had spiritual magic because the same baby was believed to be being born over and over again. The fifth time the baby was born the mother marked him with a stick to see if it really was being reborn. When the baby was reborn it did have a mark on it.

Her son grew up and rarely visited home when he came to visit he had a scarf wrapped around his head. He said that if he didn’t have it on his head would fall off. Some of the village people came to her house to tell her that her son was dead. She told them that he was just at her house. They said that he had his head cut off. At the end of the story, the people were looking at a locket and they couldn’t find out how to open it. The little girl showed them about a secret release that opened it, this proved that her son had been at her house.

The two stories were similar in some ways. They both had to do with magic. They both had a son that got killed during work. The magic in these stories was similar in that they both had to do With death, the death in both stories was caused by magic. These two stories The Monkey’s Paw and Life is Sweet at Kumanensu were both very different and very similar in different ways. They both had good topics and storylines.

Despite their differences, both “The Monkey’s Paw” and “Life is Sweet at Kumanensu” share similarities. Both stories feature a son who dies in a work-related incident, highlighting the impact of tragedy on the characters’ lives. Furthermore, the magic depicted in both narratives revolves around death, emphasizing the consequences and supernatural forces at play.
