Art has been a huge fascination since the beginning of recorded history. People of all ages partake in creating magnificent art pieces all around the globe. Whether its a painting, a drawing, or an architectural design each and every piece of artwork is unique. Art can really be anything you make it out to be. Even music can be considered art. We are all surrounded by thousands and thousands of art forms that can have a huge impact on our daily lives.

Art has been found all throughout history in many different forms. The first sign of art was found ages ago on the insides of caves known to be the work of prehistoric cavemen. These early men drew lines, shapes, graphics and smeared the insides of caves with inks usually of darker colors. Some of the paintings that have been found are predicted to have been in existence since man first started roaming the earth’s surface. As early civilization progressed so did art. It became a tool for many people who were not able to express their opinions, views, and how they thought of the world around them. Soon enough, as humanity approached modern times art became expressed through painting and architectural designs. Most importantly, art became the visual language of many artists, especially during the renaissance period when humans perception of things changed dramatically.

So what exactly is the purpose of art? The answers to that question are almost as diverse as the number of colors that coat a beautiful painting. To some people, art is a source of pleasure that gives one a sense of fulfillment and happiness. Others feel that art can be messy, like smearing a canvas with streaks of paint in many different color combinations just for the sake of losing him/herself in the moment. Many people also choose to use art as a form of communication to express your love of something. They may be expressing your love for a person, such as your husband/wife or your parents, or maybe someone who has left a major impact on your life. Other people may express their love for nature or a higher being such as God himself.

Art in its modern form can lift us up and even bring us down. Modern art can tell a story unlike anything else. Art has evolved so much in recent history that something you may not expect to be art is a form of art for someone else. Art can be anything you want it to be and it can have a story that only you the artist understands. It can give people emotions and it can drive us to become better people.
