The continuous advances in the field of Mechanical Engineering have opened growth opportunities in new dimensions. One will need to have an in-depth practical, theoretical and scientific understanding to contribute in the futuristic workshops. I want to be a part of this innovative field, which is evolving for the better tomorrow. To do this, I have to equip myself with knowledge, which a graduate program can fulfill. I envision your university as the right path to pursue my dream and to make my career as a Design and Research Engineer. During my undergraduate studies, subjects like CAD/CAM and Automation, Computer-aided Machine Drawing helped me bring my visions into real-life products, while the Design of Machine Elements II, Mechanical System Design, Dynamics of Machinery further evoked my interest in Mechanical Engineering as I academically excelled in these courses.

My knack for Mathematics has made me a passionate learner of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Numerical Methodology and Optimization. All these subjects gave me valuable theoretical experience and problem-solving mindset as to how a particular problem needs to be approached. My undergraduate had good laboratory practicals which helped me to understand maximum from the courses by working on software such as C++, Ansys, and MATLAB. With the proper allocation of energy and time, I graduated with a First class degree. Apart from solutions to technical problems I was keenly interested in Following research, therefore I with my team members worked in Micro India Engineering Pvt Ltd as project trainee for my final year undergraduate research project titled “Design and manufacturing of inspection fixture for the lug geometry” which later got published in International Journal of Innovative Research in Science, Engineering and Technology (IJIRSET).

The ultimate goal was to design and manufacture an inspection fixture which inspects the four important dimension of the lug in less time. Here we designed four snap gauges for inspecting respective dimension of the lug. Challenges faced during the project were, of increasing the productivity by reducing the inspection time, which we overcomed by brainstroming, researching and by introduction of slider mechanism with guide rods in the fixture. Solidwork CAD software was learned through online videos and blogs to compensate the unavailability of PRO Engineer CAD software. Analysis of guide rods was carried out to check the stresses induced and if the design is safe.

The final reduction of 45% in the inspection time was marked during testing after analysis, manufacturing, and assembly of the fixture. Striving to optimise and to make product and process efficient led to another International technical paper “Design, Analysis and Behavioural Assessment of Hydraulic Braking System” in the International Journal of Innovative Research in Science, Engineering and Technology (IJIRSET). Here we designed Hydraulic Braking system components and analysis of these were performed. Computational fluid dynamics was also performed to optimize the design and subsequently structural and the thermal analysis of the rotor was performed giving the maximum temperature and stresses attained.

A test rig was set up for the validation of the caliper design which involved building a brake dynamometer as well as CVT dynamometer. A MATLAB program was written to convert the output of flexi-force sensor to Force (N). Driver ergonomics was also considered while designing the brake pedal leading to a comfortable pedal positioning for the driver. Ultimately an effective hydraulic braking system was manufactured and assembled on an All-terrain vehicle (ATV). After graduating I interned in a German company called Schaeffler as a Design Intern I worked on the specific project of “Design and development of ball bearing for traction motor”. I gained understanding regarding Product development, Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly while working on this real-time project. Here I came to realize that the Mechanical Design field’s pre-requisite is full proficiency of CAD software’s.

Therefore, I joined the prestigious CADCAMGURU Pvt Ltd after my internship for a Program of CAD Engineer. With extensive practical oriented industrial questions, I gained complete mastery over three CAD software’s PTC Creo, Siemens NX, and CATIA V5 with certifications. Here I also gained knowledge regarding Concept Design, Skeleton Modeling. Currently, I am working as a Trainee Design Engineer in the Design Department of Micro India Engineering Pvt Ltd. while working I have developed strong interpreting and interpolation engineering ability while working on various projects. Participation in plenty of extracurricular activities in and outside college has helped me develop a balanced personality.

I have been a member of the first group from Maharashtra to climb the expedition ‘Pha Konda peak’, which is in the Himalayas(14000+ft above sea level), moreover singing and playing the guitar in the most enjoyed fest of Pune “Sinhgad karandak” helped me overcome my stage fear and gain more confidence. Curiosity about different culture’s led me to complete A1 level of the French language from Alliance Francaise de Pune. What is the better place to get higher and deeper knowledge regarding Mechanical research than France.

France is historically excellent in academic’s with research environment in every corner. The entire higher education system of France is ranked as one of the best in the world. It has a strong focus on scientific and applied based learning. Successful research requires not only the research mindset but also modern equipment and facilities in which terms Centrale Nantes is currently leading with facilities of Institute of Research in Civil and Mechanical Engineering (GeM), Research Laboratory in Hydrodynamics, Energetics & Atmospheric Environment (LHEEA) and laboratoire des Sciences du Numerique de Nantes (LS2N). The course contents are specially designed to provide theoretical and scientific understanding moreover the university works closely in hand with the industrial partners leading to application-based learning.

There is a mandatory internship in the final year which boosts the understanding of current industrial innovation area’s. Openness toward international students is one of the most respected quality of the Centrale Nantes. With my serious intention for study, the hardworking determination in various areas of Mechanical Engineering and dedication to make a career as Design and Research Engineer gives me the motivation to apply to Centrale Nantes for Masters in Mechanical Engineering. I believe my past laboratory and research work, the combination of skills learned in the undergraduate program, and knowledge gained through outside courses and work experiences will definitely contribute towards the research atmosphere of the university.
