My desire to do this course has been my growing interest into nursing as it strikes me as a worthwhile and satisfying career to choose. There have been many occasions during my life that I have spent at hospital; most recent being admitted for months. The nurses who cared for me always drew my admiration and interest. I feel there are a handful of truly inspirational professions and Nursing is without a doubt one of them. Along with Doctors and other medical staff, Nurses provide an invaluable service to society and to be part of that group has long been an ambition of mine. The public relations course I have studied has taught me to work as a professional. Good PR can change our perspective of the past, influence events in the present and help change the future of a company, industry, government or individual. I am a confident student willing to provide the university with good communications skills, supporting others, and being able to interact closely to them. The writing, interviewing, researching skills that I have acquired on this diploma at college would help me excel in a nursing degree at your university.
I first discovered my passion for nursing some years ago, upon being admitted for months in hospital for a deep burn. Suddenly, I was faced with a new outlet for expression. After healing I went back to my job as a Sales Executive. Working at Starlite Logistics made me come to realize that I have a passion for helping people that isn’t being satisfied, because I don’t interact with many people. After carefully researching and speaking with family members and friends, I came to the realization that Nursing would best suit my compassion and innate desire to help people. My sister is the most influential person in my life. As a nurse, I have watched and heard her excel in her career; each day we talk, she describe what her patient did that day and how today was better than yesterday, a very rewarding and successful career and she truly enjoys her job. After speaking with her regarding my career goal, she convinced me that since I enjoy helping people, being a nurse will fit my personality. This coupled with how I interacted with the nurses during my stay in hospital have built in my aspirations to succeed in the Nursing career.
The best degree courses will teach you both about the history of your chosen industry, and also give you the skills needed to survive in a digital age. Public Relations teach excellent communication skills to those who wish to pursue a career that offers an opportunity to interact with other people. Nursing is a profession where you need to understand different peoples’ psyche and offer help and services that best suit an individual hence the skills that I have acquired on this diploma at college would help me excel in a nursing degree at your university.
