Marijuana is a great plant, that can be utilized for many purposes, including medicine. Marijuana is perhaps one of the most controversial herbs rendered by the united states laws. In a world of chronic disease and pain, a solution to these issues exists. Many of the prescription drugs out there right now are only temporary fixes that cause more problems in the long run.

The term medical marijuana refers to using the whole, unprocessed marijuana plant or the basic extracts to treat symptoms of a condition or illness. Marijuana as a medicine is a very valuable thing. Our use of cannabis for medical purposes dates back at least 3000 years.

Doctors and scientific researchers alike, have all spoke on their own account that cannabis or marijuana is a valuable resource in the medical field. Doctor Joycelyn Elders quoted, “The evidence is overwhelming that marijuana can relieve certain types of pain, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms caused by such illnesses as multiple sclerosis, cancer and AIDS”. Which is why medical Marijuana should be legalized nationally in the United States.

In addition to the medical benefits that marijuana may provide, legalizing medical marijuana dispensaries can lead to fewer operate painkiller deaths, making medical marijuana a leading potential to help fight the opioid epidemic.
