The Declaration of Independence utilizes logos most effectively, because Thomas Jefferson had many complaints to report to King George III, about how the people were being treated. The colonists were trying to get his attention, because they were concerned of why King George III treated them that way. The Declaration of Independence also uses logos effectively because Jefferson gave more reasons of why the people were tired of the British Government. The citizens were tied to Britain through trade and by how they were governed. Probably why their lives were the way they were.

Many of the colonists had to do things up under the British government, because of colonization. By the 1770s, Great Britain had established a few colonies in North America. So, the colonists were like a subject of King George. Many things were restricted, like trading so they had to rely on Britain for imported goods and supplies. Many colonists used things like bartering credit to trade with each other for the things they needed.

After the French and Indian War, that’s when things started to escalate. Here are some reasons. Reason #1, Jefforson states, “He has refused his assent to laws the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.” This reason is explaining how King George didn’t want to give an approval or agreement of the colonists complaints. The next reason, #2 Jefforson states, “He has abdicated government here, withdrawing his governors, and declaring us out of his allegiance and protection.” This reason is explaining how the government failed to undertake the responsibility of the colonists or citizens. The last reason, #3 states, “He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.” The last reason explains how King George made the colonists lives harsh, because since they lived under the British government, they had to follow the British rule.

But the weakness to the whole situation is that King George didn’t pay any attention to what the people had to say about the way they are getting treated, in which I stated in the earlier paragraphs. Therefore the whole reason why Jefforson was expressing the hate on King George, because King George was supposed to protect the inalienable rights, to either abolish it, or replace it with another one.
