I’m sure you all know the sport called baseball. If you don’t well baseball is a ball game played between two teams of nine on a field with a diamond-shaped circuit of four bases. It is played chiefly in the US, Canada, Latin America, and East Asia. I\’ve always been a fan of playing baseball. Unfortunately I stopped playing baseball last year due to a arm injury.
I started playing baseball at the age of 12. Since then I fell in love with the sport , being on the field made me not think about the problems I had to face in and out of school. Everyday after school I couldn\’t wait to get out so I can go to practice. I played second base, dressing out for games was always a good feeling putting on the uniform felt amazing. Warming up before the game only prepared me and my time for a win.
The rules of baseball where very simple all you had to know was the fielding team positions are made up of a pitcher, catcher, first baseman, second baseman. Shortstop, third baseman, and three outfielders at left field, centre field and right field. Games last for 9 innings of which both teams get to bat once. Some of the new players on the team had trouble figuring out the positions but that’s why I was there. I took baseball very seriously in facts I even practiced at home out of practice for at least two to three hours.
In baseball you may ask does everyone bat? Every player in baseball does bat. If the certain league eg, in Major League Baseball Have a DH designated hitter then one person bats and usually they replace the pitcher. I played baseball for five years but my five years was about to end.
My team and I where one of the best baseball teams in our league. And our coach was eager to tell us the best news ever! When i arrived to practice on Wednesday my coach had the biggest smile on his face. He said “Boys we made it! We made it to the championships” at that moment I knew I was going to go far in baseball. Saturday had come and I when we arrived at the championship field I got changed out and warmed up. I was getting ready to be on second base when the first game had started. The first player on the Angels team went to bat our pitcher threw a fast curveball and he hit it it was coming in my direction when, all I felt was pain I caught the ball. At that moment I knew it was over for me!
