According to Clausewitz’s formulation, “war is the continuation of politics by other means.” The main means of achieving the goals of war is organized armed struggle as the main and decisive means, as well as economic, diplomatic, ideological, informational and other means of struggle. In this sense, war is organized armed violence, the purpose of which is to achieve political goals.

The development of wars is the result of technological and demographic changes. It is a process in which long periods of strategic and technical stability are followed by sudden changes. The characteristics of wars change in accordance with the development of the means and methods of warfare, as well as the change in the alignment of forces in the international arena.
