The Ukraine parliament officially declared itself an independent state on August 24, 1991. First, they called for a referendum for support the Declaration of Independence. On 1 December 1991, the people of Ukraine expressed widespread support for the Act of Declaration of Independence, with more than 90% voting in favor. Referendum question: “Do you support the Act of the Declaration of the Independence of Ukraine?” According to “soviethistory.msu.edu” 90.32% voted yes for Independents. It was so prominent and significant after a hundred years of fighting for independence.

Ukraine finally become an independent country. Ukrainian people were trying to declare an independent from the first war, but they failed because of the heavy pressure of Russian imperial and Austro Hungarian Empire. That is why independence is so important for people. Ukraine become independent through a few generations. A lot of people died because they supported Independence ideas. Since 1992, the 24th of August is celebrated in Ukraine as Independence Day. Many experts expected Ukraine to have a short life.

And many others expected it to follow in the footsteps back to the Soviet Union and totalitarian regime of power. Instead, 25 years after independence, Ukraine survives as a democratic state. In the long-term, this Declaration would also have significant effects on political situation, economy renovation, culture and freedom situations During this time period Ukraine had a lot political and economic challenges. One of them is an election challenge in 2004. Ukraine’s 2004 presidential election was the most important event in Ukraine since independence was achieved in 1991.

An Old president was going to retire. So the person who wins the election can change political situation in Ukraine. When a pro-Russian candidate won an election using corruption and fake votes, Ukrainian citizens started protesting for a fair election. That caused a Ukrainian orange revolution. It was peaceful revolution. All people were enjoining protests in all country. It was a critical situation for country. Fight between democratic and totalitarian regime. Russia was ready to start a military support his candidate. Without powerful government this situation could cause Civil War.

Finally, thanking our previous president, everyone considered a compromise. A new fair election. This time a young pro democratic candidate won. During this election he was poisoned. Austrian doctors said it was dioxin – possibly placed deliberately in his food. A new president Viktor Yushchenko headed the country to freedom and European Union. After the declaration of Independent Ukrainian language got a new birth. During the soviet period, all official institution was speaking Russian. All movie and music were the Russian languages because of the huge power of Soviet propaganda.

“Visible personalities are usually popular at a time when society most needs them. And they, like Noah, help the people cope with the assembly, give the desired help and try to solve the problems “said my history teacher. After declaration of the Independent Ukraine started using Ukrainian language as official language, new Ukrainian Books and movies were published. Ukrainian music become popular. Ukraine has a cultural product that it can present in Europe at all levels – in culture, in cinema, in literature and in academic music, but their actions and strategies of cultural development.

Ukrainian artists have become commonplace. Studio ‘Quarter 95’ and filmmakers Oles Sanin and Oleg Sentsov develop modern Ukrainian cinema and receive honors abroad. The true ‘exotic’ of Ukraine – singer Ruslana and Jamal. The actors managed to win the main song contest – the Eurovision Song Contest. The name Jamali after the triumph still does not disappear from the box of foreign publications. And of course, it’s worth remembering another woman who has become a symbol of independent Ukraine. Her surname is familiar to everyone on the planet.

The pilot, who had been in Russian captivity for two years, forced the whole world to bow to disobedience, pride and power of the Ukrainian woman. Nadezhda Savchenko, having endured all the attempts of Russian captivity, returned home. As for our contemporaries, they are proving to foreigners every day that Ukraine is worthy of attention. For example, the Ukrainian sports movement has something to be proud of. Figurist Oksana Bajul won the first gold medal at the Olympics Games. The two-time olympic champion of swimming Yana Klochkova became the ‘golden fish’ of Ukraine. Sergey Bubka – winner of the honorary title ‘Best Athlete of the World’.

Boxers Klychko brothers, football coach Valery Lobanovsky, football players Andriy Shevchenko and Eugene Konoplyanka are names that have not only glorified Ukraine but are still on the international sports arena. A lot people started speaking Ukrainian because it’s mean to be a patriot. Growing number of tourists is coming to Kyiv (the capital of Ukraine) to look at the sightseeing and to feel Ukrainian spirit of freedom. Ukraine spirit of freedom is everywhere around. People feel that they have a rights and police protects their right. correct Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said, addressing the crowd after his inauguration “Independence has given us democracy and freedom, the feeling of civic dignity and national unity,”.

Thousands of flag-waving Ukrainians dressed in traditional embroidered shirts cheered, “Glory to Ukraine!” and “Death to enemies!”. People love Ukraine because many reasons but the main reason is a freedom. Ukraine got a freedom and every day protecting and developing this freedom and independent. An independent state is impossible without creating a highly effective national economy.

During the proclamation of independence, Ukraine was economically backward, with a rapid decline in production and the economic crisis. The economy was violated after gaining independence. For a long time known as ‘Bread of Europe’ for its fertile black soil, Ukraine has lost many farms because of a new type of economy. In Soviet times, nobody cared about profits, so in the real market, these farms did not really earn. Large state farms were closed. Entrepreneurs started creating farms with new equipment, but it took several years. The economic situation was very poor.

The government and entrepreneurs were forced to find new markets in a very short period of time. Economic stagnation was during the first 5 years. Finally, after a few years, the economy start growing. In 2004, according to ecb.europa.eu the Ukrainian economy showed a European level with a low unemployment rate. Therefore, the ‘European Choice”. plan of economic 2002-2011 development introduced by president in 2002, is based on the effective implementation of deep economic, social and political reforms. Thanks to this plan, the Ukrainian economy has grown significantly and became independent.

In conclusion, since 1992 Ukraine became the independent country with a strong and unique language, a special spirit of freedom. Independence let Ukraine create a country. Where people have real power and freedom. 25 years of independence is a very small time frame for a country in general. Ukraine still have a lot of problems such as a high level of corruption but people and government improving and developing this beautiful country. The Independence of Ukraine affected Ukraine by letting people develop Ukrainian culture, language, economic and most important freedom.
