Throughout our life, we are taught many lessons that are preparing us for the future. Whether it be little things such as learning how to respect your peers while you are in kindergarten, or learning technical skills like utilizing the Microsoft Suites. These concepts that were are taught in the beginning of our primary years are useful for the future. Career wise, in ten to fifteen years I see myself as a pharmacist preferable working in a hospital.
Becoming a pharmacist is one of my aspirations in life because pharmaceuticals apply chemistry and math, which are two subjects that really interest me. I cannot imagine myself working in an office in business casual dress. I enjoy helping others and interacting with patients, so I can also see myself going to medical school to become a hospitalist. The idea of working in a hospital and helping the in-patients is fascinating to me.
To begin with, my dream job is to become a pharmacist. In summary, a pharmacist is basically someone that deals with medicine. They dispense medicine that was prescribed to the patient by their physicians. Not only do they dispense the medicine, they must weigh and ensure that the patient is receiving the right amount of dosage of medicine. The technical skills that are widely used by pharmacist are the Microsoft suites, which we are taught how to utilize the different components of Microsoft while in middle and high school.
In the future, I must understand the other medical software such as Epic Systems and MEDITECH software. Also, there are label making softwares such as RxKinetics that I must familiarize myself with. Pharmacy uses different aspects of knowledge in order to successfully understand the job. You must apply medical concepts, mathematics, biology, chemistry, and customer service. This is just a small list of knowledge that is used in pharmacy. These are the main concepts that come to mind, but pharmacist must also understand the laws in order to ensure that they do not violate any ethical codes, management so they are properly trained to guide the interns through their residency, and computer and electronics to know how to input information into the database.
Skills that a pharmacist must uphold are basic skills that apply to almost every job. These skills are active listening, critical thinking, time management, reading comprehension, and complex problem solving. Other skills that may apply to the job better is science and mathematics. The education required to become a pharmacist is some sort of professional degree or doctoral degree.

According to O*NET OnLine, the median wage in South Carolina, which is $125,970, and this median is slightly higher than the United States median.
