Abstract

Cancer is a group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled cell division which leads to growth of abnormal tissue. This means that a cancer is essentially a disease of mitosis. Cancer begins when a single cell is transformed or converted from a normal cell to a cancer cell. Cancer cells grow and divide uncontrollably to form a mass of cancer cells called a tumor. As the tumors grow, they squash healthy cells, steal their nutrients and prevent them from working normally.

The new blood vessels also enable cancer cells to enter the bloodstream and spread to other parts of the body. Tumors that can spread to other parts of the body are called malignant. Cancer cells can spread to surrounding tissues via the bloodstream or via the lymph system. As previously mentioned, cancer cells are malignant which means they can invade tissues and spread to other parts of the body. Some tumors cannot spread to other tissues and are called benign tumors. Beginning tumors are non-cancerous.

A cancer can proceed to develop since cancer cells act in an unexpected way than typical cells. Cancer cells have the same needs as typical cells. They require a blood supply to bring oxygen and supplements to develop and survive. When a tumor is exceptionally little, it can effortlessly develop, and it gets oxygen and supplements from adjacent blood vessels. But as a tumor develops, it needs more blood to bring oxygen As a mass of cancerous cells grow, it may have developed into tumor more over cancer cells can easily overrun neighboring tissue sometimes it can break off and travel to several parts of the body leading to the forming of new tumors in this all those parts.

Introduction

Cancer is a group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled cell division which leads to growth of abnormal tissue. This means that a cancer is essentially a disease of mitosis. Cancer begins when a single cell is transformed or converted from a normal cell to a cancer cell. Cancer cells grow and divide uncontrollably to form a mass of cancer cells called a tumor. As the tumors grow, they squash healthy cells, steal their nutrients and prevent them from working normally.

Cancer cells differ from normal cells in a number of ways: Cancer cells don’t listen to signals to stop growing: Normal cells listen to signals from the body to stop growing and dividing. However, cancer cells do not respond to signals from the body and keep on Beginning tumors are non-cancerous dividing. cells grow new blood vessels: As the tumor grows larger, it begins to release proteins from the cell to attract new blood vessels. Blood vessels draw nutrients away from healthy cells and therefore starve them while allowing the growth of the tumor. The new blood vessels also enable cancer cells to enter the bloodstream and spread to other parts of the body. cells spread around the body: Another feature of cancer cell is that they can spread around the body.

Tumors that have the ability to spread to other parts of the body are called malignant. Cancer cells can spread to surrounding tissues via the bloodstream or via the lymph system. As previously mentioned, cancer cells are malignant which means they are able to invade tissues and spread to other parts of the body. Some tumors cannot spread to other tissues and are called benign tumors. Benign tumors are non-cancerous.

What is cancer?

Cancer is cells that do not respond to the signals from the body that control cell growth and death, or they are cells gone wrong, it’s arisen within body’s tissue as they grow and divide splay ever further from normalcy over time cancer cells become increasingly resistant to the controls that maintain ordinary tissue as result cancer cells divide rapidly more than their progenitors and it’s become less depended on signals from other cells, cancer cells escape from programed cell death in spite of that their multiply abnormalities would normally make them the main target for an apoptosis. In the last stages of cancer, the cells break through normal tissue frontier and spread to a new site in the body (Canadian Cancer Society, 2015).

How cancer starts?

Human’s bodies comprise a huge number of cells grouped to form organs and tissue and these cell are dividing into 2 identical cells then this 2 cells are dividing into 4 cells and so on adults cell are dividing only to produce more cells when the body needs them to replace damaged or aging cells however cancer cells are different because of the genetic mutations that turn the cell from normal cell  to cancer cell these gene mutations may be inherited, developed over time as human get older and genes wear out or will developing if a person around something damages the genes such as alcohol or cigarettes etc.… cancer can start from any cell in the body cancer cells are start grow and dividing out of control instead of dying when it must they also don’t grow as much as normal cell so cancer cells stay amateur (The mutation rate and cancer, 1996).

How cancer grows?

Gene transformations in cancer cells meddled with the ordinary informational in a cell and can cause it to develop out of control or not pass on when it ought to. A cancer can proceed to develop since cancer cells act in an unexpected way than typical cells. Cancer cells are diverse from ordinary cells since they: divide out of control are youthful and don’t create into develop cells with particular jobs avoid the safe system ignore signals that tell them to halt separating or to kick the bucket when they should don’t adhere together exceptionally well and can spread to other parts of the body through the blood or lymphatic system grow into and harm tissues and organs

As cancer cells isolate, a tumor will create and develop. Cancer cells have the same needs as typical cells. They require a blood supply to bring oxygen and supplements to develop and survive. When a tumor is exceptionally little, it can effortlessly develop, and it gets oxygen and supplements from adjacent blood vessels. But as a tumor develops, it needs more blood to bring oxygen (Taking the Study of Cancer Cell Survival to a New Dimension, 2002).

How cancer spreads?

Cancer during the early stages is typically tumors being remain pent within the normal border of a tissue. As tumor develop or grow and turn to malignant however they gain the ability to break through these normal boundaries and infest adjoining tissues cancer cells often secrete matter called proteases that quality to degrade the extracellular matrix at a tissue’s boundary also boundary also the proteases give cancer cells ability to create a new pathway in tissue for example, cancer cells can break down cell’s junctions gaining access to new territories.

The literally meaning of metastasis is “new place” and it is one of the terminal stages of cancer in this stage cancerous get in the bloodstream or lymphatic system and travel to new sites in the body where they launch to divide and set the foundation for secondary tumors not all cancer cells metastasize orderly to spread in this way the cell must can break through the normal barrier of the body so they can both come in and come out the blood lymph vessels even roving metastatic cancer cells face challenges when trying to grow in new areas scitable by nature Education , 2014).

Why does cancers sometime come back?

Occasionally after end treatment stage the stage the stage the small cancer cells can remain in bodies, then they can divide again and grow over time to form another cancer this literality means the cancer can recur after it faded sometimes it appears after a couple of years or months and  it worth to mention that follow-up appointment with specialized doctors after recovering of cancer will be helpful to reveal if the cancer come back also tests and scanning find the new cancer cells early because of some types of cancer have higher risk of coming back and these cancer is called recurrent cancer and the cancer who come back in the same area of the body called local recurrence and the other cancer who can come back in difference parts of body called metastasis or secondary cancer and sometimes called advanced cancer (Cancer Research UK, 2017).

Conclusion

In brief One of the most prominent characteristics of cancer cells is unchecked or uncontrolled cell growth its worth mention that the genetic mutation is the main cause of cancer because of a defect that occur in cells division process like cell cycle arrest. As a mass of cancerous cells grow, it may have developed into tumor more over cancer cells can easily overrun neighboring tissue sometimes it can break off and travel to several parts of the body leading to the forming of new tumors in this all those parts.
