Good morning friends, teachers, parents and fellow graduates. I feel deeply honored to be standing before you at such an unforgettable moment. Well, can you believe it? Time flies like an arrow. Everything happened as fast as a blink of an eye. And now we are graduating. As the saying goes, “Graduation is an exciting time. It marks both an ending and a beginning; it’s warm memories of the past and big dreams for the future.” So, let us look back at the memories of high school today. Besides, I will express my gratitude to everyone that has helped me throughout my high school life and motivate fellow graduates to bravely start a new chapter in life. This speech aims to celebrate this memorable occasion together and inspire fellow graduates to achieve a better future.
First and foremost, let’s start looking back at the memories together before leaving school. Everyone here has good and bad memories of high school. Do you still remember the very first day of school? Most of us walked into the school as nervous as a cat. We were worried about what will happen on that day and whom will we met. It was pretty hilarious when you recall it. Then, we met our best friends in high school. Friendships in high school are the most precious, valuable and purest relationships to have in our lives. We talk together, laugh together, eat together, play together, study together and even been through the ups and downs together. I feel very fortunate to have these lifelong friends in my life.
Other than friendships, we also went through so much during high school. For example, dramas, homework, extra credit projects, and all the other little pratfalls that hit us in high school. Besides, I remember that during the last assembly, all of us used the loudest voice to sing the school song and take oaths. We all are unwilling to leave high school so we did our best to make it memorable. Yet, time keeps ticking and we should move forward too. Let’s keep the memories in our hearts forever and look towards the future.
Secondly, the reasons I’m able to be standing here and graduated are not just because of my efforts and hard work but also because of parents, teachers and friends’ contributions and support. Therefore, I’m here to show my gratitude to everyone that has helped me throughout my high school life. To our parents, thank you for supporting us unconditionally. You called us to get up every morning, prepared food for us, paid our class fees, helped us with homework and listened to our complaints. These are just a few ways you have supported us on our journey.
Besides, you have contributed a lot of time and money to us. Next, to our teachers, thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us selflessly. You taught us with passion, you took time to explain and repeat when we didn’t understand and you tried to make lessons more interesting so we wouldn’t just tune out. You also allowed us to ask you for extra help after school when you could have gone home and spent time with your family. Then, to our friends, thank you for staying by our side when we need your help. I remember one time I lost my wallet in school, I was panicked. Fortunately, my friends comforted me and they helped me find my wallet in the canteen. I feel grateful to have them in my life.
Last but not least, I felt apprehensive whenever I thought of graduating and starting a new chapter. But standing here today after going through five years in high school, I’m filled ecstasy and excitement to venture into a new chapter in life. Graduation is not the end, it’s just the beginning of a new chapter. Now, I’m going to motivate fellow graduates to bravely start a new chapter in life. From this day forward, we have to make each decision with our best interests in mind. Furthermore, we have to keep pushing and believe in ourselves to achieve our goals and dreams. Next, we have to be the best that we can to fill our lives with happiness and pride. Moreover, we have to continue to care about ourselves, family and friends. Besides, we have to be humble and don’t forget the friends we have made as we move forward because true friendships are hard to find. Hence, it’s time to make a change and take the next step in our journey to achieve a better future.
In conclusion, graduation is not the end and it’s just the beginning of a new chapter in our journey. In this speech, I’ve recalled the memories of high school, express my gratitude to everyone that has helped me throughout my high school life and motivate fellow graduates to bravely start a new chapter in life. I hope I’ve inspired fellow graduates to achieve a better future. Dr. Seuss once said, “You’re off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!” Congratulations my fellow graduates!
