Is batman really a superhero? He’s so rich he could leave and find a new asylum and avoid all the chaos of a failed city. The definition of a super hero is: “a fictional hero having extraordinary or superhuman powers also an exceptionally skillful or successful person.” Batman doesn’t have any superpowers but what he does have is an immense amount of wealth in which he uses to buy and make all different sorts of toys as in devices to help him thwart the villains of Gotham city. So according to the definition Batman isn’t a superhero because he doesn’t have any powers but instead, he’s a hero. The definition of a hero is: “a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability, an illustrious warrior, a person admired for achievements and noble qualities, one who shows great courage.” Batman goes and beats these villains without any super powers just immense wealth and courage to do the right thing.

While Batman defeated all these villains and stops their terrible plans, in the end he’s still a vigilante that’s wanted by the police. When you think about its batman or Bruce Wayne could have done better just using his mass of wealth by supporting the police but instead, he decided to break the law and take matter into his own words and possibly made matters worse to where the police rely on batman to try and catch the villains as the police sit idly by. Now that you know what a hero is here’s some back-ground info on the Batman, “The batman is the prince of Gotham, have everything what a normal person can aspire- Wealth, Name, Established business. However, one day one person out of nowhere snatches the true wealth of a kid-his parents.”

His parents were not only killed right in front of him but robbed, but as a kid he had to watch them die right in front of him. But in that moment the child in the prince got murdered and he grew up. “What he did, he trained and trained for many years while being haunted by the “ghosts of his past”.” When he left he left everything money fame his remaining friends but after years of being away he came back to the city with bad memories of his family being killed… everybody though he would peruse vengeance on those who murdered his family but instead “he became something else than a mere man, he became a legend, he became BATMAN. And the first rule of his was “JUSTICE NOT VENGEANCE”.”  By the Batman not wanting to get vengeance for the death of his parents but rather justice proves he’s not a bad person but rather a hero. You can also be a vigilante but a hero also by doing good by bringing the corrupt to justice.

There are many hero’s which might be real of fake but there are certain qualities that make up a hero and they are courage, responsibility, and good judgement. One hero I believe has all these qualities is Batman. “Batman is a DC comic super hero and the defender of Gotham City. Batman is very courageous because he doesn’t have any superpowers but still has the courage to face crazy villains and dangerous criminals. Batman puts his life in danger for his city and that makes him a courageous hero. Responsibility is a huge quality in a superhero because they have taken the responsibility to keep their city safe. The city of Gotham counts on Batman to be responsible and flashes the bat sign in the sky when he is needed. Batman commits his whole life to protecting the citizens of Gotham and does whatever is necessary to keep his city safe and that makes him a responsible superhero.”

Why batman isn’t a hero, Batman isn’t a hero because he’s a vigilante which means “a member of a volunteer committee organized to suppress and punish crime summarily.” In case you didn’t know being a vigilante is illegal in which you are a wanted individual because you are breaking some of the same laws the ruthless thieves and criminal’s batman is hunting down for “justice” but when he hands them back to the same corrupt police department in which promptly releases or somehow losses the case against the criminals. The Batman or Also known as the Bruce Wayne the millionaire could solve everything by paying off everybody to just do their job and put away all the criminals forever but instead, he takes the illegal way and beats the criminals and gives them to the cops.

“Did Batman ever think about putting down the cape and cowl? Using his resources and clever mind he could have affected more change in Gotham as Bruce Wayne than as the Dark Knight. You can see this in the DMZ storyline where his one publicist was informing him that he should have at least a dozen, and the whole story line reflected his neglect of anything above street level. Once that thread was pulled at the whole thing comes undone and it becomes obvious that he keeps Gotham this way on purpose. He doesn’t really want to do anything to make things better. Why would he? Punching people is much more gratifying than building a school, donating money, or supporting a political candidate. So purely from the standpoint of DC wanting to sell books, I understand no one wants to see Bruce Wayne Philanthropist, they want Batman punching Joker in the face. He is fighting a corrupt police force and that is why he still has the cape and cowl. Ok, so what?

A brilliant mind as Batman’s/Bruce Wayne’s couldn’t figure out a better way? ‘I could probably bribe key people, black mail others, and install people of integrity into key positions to clean up the police force, but no. I’m going to pour my resources into a utility belt and then beat up the corrupt police I’m fighting and then hand them over to the same corrupt police that I’m fighting.’ He seriously spends more time coming up with Superman countermeasures, than devising any kind of end strategy that will benefit Gotham. Maybe throw some money at Arkham to keep the place from being a revolving door for the criminals that keep slipping out? If you’re mad that Batman continues to let Joker live, you should be more mad that he was ever able to escape or be let out of Arkham. But he could of Run for office, but he doesn’t and keeps beating up people?”
