The Scary Friday Night Descriptive writing It was a Friday night. The full moon was shining through the bare branches making scary shadows on our path as we walked. A cool light wind was blowing sending leaves dancing noisily in the forest floor. I remember thinking to myself that the night, was the scariest night ever, and I wanted to ask Scott to go back and take the long way through the road, but I was afraid that he would laugh at me and make jokes about me for being scared of the dark.

The path we walked on would take us past the park and end at the pub above called The Bull. We chose this path because it would be the shorter walk to the pub. We were feeling bored and went out for a drink or two. A walk that led us into the forest. As we walked past the park a group of teenage youths came jumping out from behind of some bushes and trees. My heart was in my throat and I felt Scott give a scared jump.

“Oi, what the hell do you think you’re doing!” Shouted Scott and swore at them. They laughed and went to find their gang. My face was still a look of terror and when Scott turned to see if I was all right, tan the youths swore at him back and were just standing there, Scott started chasing them. Then an older man appeared from the forest and pushed Scott so hard that sent him stumbling backwards, over a log into a big pile of leaves from a nearby tree. I was scared and I didn’t know what to do so I ran thought the forest where I hid hoping to phone the police for help, the battery was dead, I run and hid.

I hid in behind a rock deep in forest n and feeling scared by myself and waited for the sound of crunching leaves. I listened intensely, but what broke the silence was not the sound I expected to hear. From below, in the forest, I heard speaking. The sound reminded some of the youths that scared us earlier. I slowly turned around to see who or what it was that was doing the chanting. Suddenly, from behind, a strong arm grabbed me. I opened my mouth to scream, but it was quickly covered by a second hand. As I struggled to get loose I wondered what had happened to Scott and if I was going to die that Friday night.

I calmed down after when I heard Scott’s voice whispering my name. When I finally settled down, he whispered for me to be quiet before he released his hold over my mouth. As he released his hold, I saw he was bruised badly by the kids kicking him and he got away. My eyes went down to the strange sight below.” Oh my God!” I said. I turned to question whether I was really seeing what was below me, but the look on his face gave me the answers to my question.

In the valley below, surrounding a large stood about twenty people. They were dressed in white long coats with hoods that hung over their faces, giving them a scary look. As they stood there a lot of their soft chanting could be heard. Then there was silence as two men holding a human body joined the group. They tied the body on a tree while a new man entered the group. In his hand was a large knife that he carried and went down on his knees chanting softly. Slowly he rose, raising the knife high into the air, and then with a loud cry he lowered the blade into the screaming mans chest. With ease he sliced open the man while it cried and struggled.

Then, as if it was nothing he began to peel its skin from the body. When he finished he held the head and skin high into the air as he praying to his god. He called for power as he placed the goat’s head in place. The skin was still wet with blood. The man than vanished back in the darkness in the forest. And the group walked chanting and pointing towards us, we got scared and run away. They chased us but we lost them, we took a short-cut through the forest to our house, when we got there I called the police, when they came they asked us questions about what happened but never found the gang. the police didn’t believe us, they actually thought we were mentally sick and send us to the physiatrist, we could not believe what happened that day.
