The Martian is 2015 science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and initially released on September 24,2015 at London. This is the novel based movie written by Andry Weir. The film depicts an astronaut’s lone struggle to survive on Mars after being left behind, and efforts to rescue him. It starts the Matt Damon, Jassica Chastin, Kristen Wily, Jeff Daniels etc.

In this movie, a team of astronauts was sent by NASA on Mars to check the any symbol of life but unfortunately, the team is hit by an unpredicted storm and have to abort their mission and leave for Earth. During the evacuation one of the crew members, Mark Watney, is hit by a projectile due to the storm and is thrown away. The crew is forced to leave him thinking he died due to rupture in his space suit. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet.

Now he has to find ways to service until the NASA rescue him. A limited supply of food is there. Firstly, he makes calculations how to live with limited supply of food. Being a botanist, he manages to cultivate food and makes water from the gases present in the space shuttle.

He does some amusing activities not to bore himself like he listens music and calls himself only one botanist on mars. Eventually Tawney finds a machine to communicate with Earth Finally NASA decides to bring him back at any cost.

But the space shuttle of crew has the limited supply of fuel and it can’t land on MARS. So, they decided to land the small shuttle with minimum weight as the can on Mars. But The shuttle comes up too low to reach the Hermes spaceship. But suddenly, Watney makes a plan, he makes a small hope in his space suit and uses the thrust force to reach the spaceship.

In this movie, we learned that we should not lose hope even in a very harsh conditions. The hard conditions makes us strong We should believe ourselves and remains optimistic.
