After reading your Anti-#MeToo Manifesto. I totally agree with your argument that the metoo movement should be banned and I wanted to add some further viewpoints to explain why the #metoo movement has gone too far.

So far, the biggest difficulty with the #MeToo movement is the lack of confirmation. For instance: The problem with Hollywood predators happened because of the lack of due diligence. Important people and companies failed to examine these people and allowed them to gain prominence. They didn’t appropriately asses their character in giving them their positions. Which resulted in corrupt people with clout, in positions of relative authority, gaining an opportunity to ill-treat those without clout. If an accusation comes up it is ‘handled’ by management and law enforcement because of the fame of the accused.

This is a bad situation, however, trying to resolve the problem without due diligence is going to produce the same situation in reverse. The Metoo movement itself is a situation where production companies, networks, the news media, and social media give provisional power and authority to anyone who comes forward with a story about sex irritation. This program itself is a dangerous situation. A situation where, no matter how well-intentioned, innocent people are at real risk of being abused by the few bad people who have been given power, temporarily.

Granted, a lot of people who are not innocent have been targeted and disgraced. But there is nothing, no check on the MeToo system, designed to prevent innocent people from getting caught in the crossfire. As you said in the manifesto, the metoo movement are gradually became a purge, we cannot purge injustice with injustice in return. And if 100 legitimate perpetrators are taken down, and the 101st of them is innocent, then #MeToo itself becomes the abuser.

Secondly, Metoo movement never define the meaning of sexual harassment nor do they define what is sexual assault, ever. Obviously, these ill-defined terms are left ambiguous is on purpose, any event or action that a female finds to be uncomfortable or creepy will be called sexual harassment. I’ll give you an example. Let’s say a woman sleeps with a man that she met one night while in the city. Everything goes well until she feels some regret about the experience. She could have turned out to be a weirdo, her friends might think that she made a mistake, whatever. And now, with the existence of the #Metoo movement. Guess what? She can now proclaim that she was raped. Not to the police mind you, but to the world through social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Weibo) and “women’s rights” organizations. She says that she was raped and if anyone challenges her, they will be shouted down as being a misogynist person.

Thirdly, they don’t care about due process, not even a little bit. I learned that one of the hallmarks of the American legal system is that defendants are presumed to be innocent until they are proven to be guilty. What makes me angry is that the metoo movement just directly make accusations though, expect for these men to be taken at face value, play the victim card, and then demand for the target of your accusations to pay dearly. No one is allowed to confront their accuser, no evidence is presented, and a big show is made. All you have to do is make an accusation and a man loses his job, his reputation, and his monetary assets. Men have no voice in this, at all. Women already have the courts tilted in their favor, ironic as that might be. Men are the true victims, the disposable commodities that you use to enrich yourselves. Believing a lie is bad enough, willfully believing a lie is far worse, and using that lie to intentionally inflict damage on others is the worst of all.

Furthermore, the #metoo movement claim to be able to do whatever a man can do, yet with #MeToo they’re actually begging men to help women destroy other bad men. Isn’t that weird? Women are “strong and independent” yet are perpetually victims of “harassment” and “Assault” and need others to stand up for them. That shows that women are neither strong nor independent. Of course, it could show that women are lazy too. #MeToo has been vilifying men with impunity and getting away with it for far too long.

Finally, Metoo movement will have an unintended impact for opportunities for women employment and advancement. Imagine you are a business owner or an executive, and you have two equally talented candidates for a position in a company. One of them has the power to destroy your career, or the career of a colleague, with a tweet. The other does not. Who do you hire? Even if this business owner or executive is a woman doing the hiring, she must recognize and mitigate potential liabilities to her company and those in the company. And this is totally unfair and sexist. Someone might say, ‘Well, get rid of the men who harass.’ That still doesn’t protect the company 100% because even if you educate and vet every man you hire and employ, inappropriate comments or dating will still occur, which could result in allegations. And even false allegations are possible, again leaving the company open to lawsuits and public embarrassment and brand erosion.

These are the viewpoints that I have concerning the, “Me too,” movement and the reason why I think the metoo movement has gone too far.
