One way that the Renaissance changed man’s view of the world was through pictures that they painted. During the Medieval times, artists mainly focused on everything being religious. The paintings weren’t very detailed and didn’t have much background to it. Every medieval picture looked the same. Same facial expressions, same people, and most of them are two dimensional. Unlike medieval paintings, Renaissance paintings have more depth and detail to it. There was tremendous shadowing to make a picture look realistic. The background was significantly detailed, even though that wasn’t the main focus. For example, the Mona Lisa is a very well known piece of artwork that was made during the main Renaissance time. It wasn’t focused on anything religious and instead, focused on a normal Florentine merchant. The Renaissance was based on human nature and how great people are (Document A). This explains how the Renaissance changed man’s view of the world by the change of art from religion, to human nature.

Another reason why Renaissance changed man’s view of the world was by saying that they should focus more on the beauty of mankind, instead of the afterlife and what isn’t going on in that time period. In the Renaissance time, people were focusing more on themselves. They would compare how it was during the Medieval times and how it was in their time (Renaissance). They would do that by saying, “Heaven-King Calleth Everyman to a general reckoning,” and compare it to, “What a piece of work is a man!” Throughout Medieval times, they would think that everything is about God and about the afterlife. But, everything is about what is happening now, not in the future, and not in the past. Poems said that a man had “actions like an angel” or “moving how express and admirable!” Compared to Medieval times, the Renaissance time had a lot more positivity surrounding them in their community (Document B). This explains how the Renaissance changed man’s view of the world by the change of positivity about everyman.

The last reason on why the Renaissance changed man’s view of the world was through scientific facts and reasoning. Before all the scientifically proven facts of how the world was, people just based everything on zodiacs and God. In the Medieval times, people thought that if God made us the greatest thing that was created, he must have made us the center of the Milky Way. They thought that Earth was in the center, then Lunæ, Mercurii, Veneris, Solis, Martis, Iovis, and then Saturni. But when Copernicus said that Earth was not the center of everything, everyone was freaking out because they very much disagreed with him about that theory. But he kept on trying to convince people which scientific facts and reasoning (Document C).

People also randomly assumed that our bodies were based on the zodiac signs. For example, they thought that the ram controls the head and a Capricorn control your knees. But Vesalius thought that it was ridiculous that those different things control different parts of your body. Vesalius actually dug up a corps and dissected it to figure out the different parts of your body instead of just assuming that zodiac signs control you. He also used the dissected corps to draw the actual build and makeup of a human. The zodiac theory was not realistic and their drawing of the body wasn’t as detailed with the body parts (Document D). This explains how the Renaissance changed man’s view of the world by using scientific facts and reasoning to prove astronomy instead of assuming that it’s evolved around God and zodiacs.

In conclusion, the Renaissance changed man’s view of the world with the art from religion to human nature, change of astronomy, and the difference of positivity from Medieval times to the Renaissance. The art during the medieval times was very focused on God and religion. Whereas during the Renaissance, it was more focused on everything around them instead of imaginary things. The change of astronomy went from being evolved around God and zodiacs, to scientific facts and reasoning. The difference of view of everyman changed from saying that “Heaven-King Calleth Everyman to a general reckoning,” compared to, “What a piece of work is a man!” During Medieval times, they would think that everything is about God and about the afterlife. I think that the Renaissance changed man’s view of the world because they finally realized what was around them, was more important and more interesting than just God and religion.
