The song I chose is a very special song. Is a song I love very much; it is from a few years ago but it still feels like it is a new song every time I listen to it. The song is, “Haven’t Met You Yet” by Michael Buble.

Many people my generation do not listen to this type of music but for me is a way of feeling music on another level. This is a very beautiful song, especially since when you listen to it you might think is talking about a love between two adults but it really isn’t. When I first heard this song I thought the same thing, that it was a guy about finding his soul mate and falling in love but after a few times that I listened to it I realized what he was really talking about it. As the song plays you realize that is actually about a father singing to his future son/daughter.

I know everyone will get a different prospective of the song, of course, but from my point of view it is very clear what is the real meaning of the song. Part of the lyrics goes like this “I’m not surprised not everything lasts I’ve broken my heart so many times I stopped keeping track. Talk myself in, I’ll talk myself out, I get all worked up then I let myself down”.

In my opinion, here he is trying to say that him and his wife have try so many times to have a child and then something happens where it just doesn’t happen and he lets himself down for getting all worked up in the first place. He is also saying that it doesn’t matter how much he has to wait, that it will be worth it when that baby comes into his life. He is also saying that when that kid arrives he will work so much to give him or her everything the kid deserves. This is a very emotional song, especially for people that have been trying to have a baby for a long time and have difficulties conceiving.

It is also very hard for people who are trying to adopt; you may think it is easy for them but it is not, it is actually very hard for some people to go through that process. I believe that the main purpose of this song overall is to tell parents who are trying to have a kid, either naturally or by adoption, to not ever give it; to keep trying even when it seems impossible and you think it is not going to happen, that it will happen eventually one way or another and it will be the best thing in life.

I understand why most people might listen to this song and think it is a love song because the same happened to me at first; the person who wrote the song probably had a second intention when they wrote it. I am not sure if it was the singer, Michael Buble or someone else, I believe it was him with two other people, but I do get it. Nowadays people dream with finding their soul mate and finding the love of their life and live happily ever after, so I do understand the double meaning of the song; they need to sell, and a love song will definitely sell more than a song about a baby.

This still one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in my life, I love the lyrics and the feeling that is trying to transmit. It is a song done very well and you can tell just by listening to it that the person who wrote really felt what they were writing about. It has been almost ten years since this song first came out and it still one of my favorites, this is just the type of songs that will stick with you all your life. This is a way to know that it is a really good song.
