South Africa is a place with many wonder and delight. Though memories of a troubled past continue to dwell. When Apartheid (racial segregation) began in 1948, the country began to panic because people were in danger of being sentenced to jail or even death. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a hero during this time. He was a man who stood up for others and his country. Many people thought the same as Nelson but many were afraid.
The Federal Government then got involved in this event and Nelson was sentenced to 30 years in prison. While he was imprisoned the people of South Africa protested. The protesting people held signs saying “No More Apartheid!”,”We Stand By Our Leaders”., and “Free South Africa!”. Nelson was then released in 1994. People felt relieved and Nelson continued to do his speech for South Africa and its people. On December,5,2013 Nelson Mandela passed away while in the office.
South Africa is normally 50 to 70 Degrees Fahrenheit, normally it is this cold because of South Africa being closer to Antarctica. If you are further up on South Africa it won’t be as cold. This does not mean that beaches are not hot, beaches are hot because of the reflection of heat through sand’s light color. If you want to explore South Africa, it is recommended to take hiking boots different terrains. Make sure that you are ready for warmer Deserts. Deserts are normally 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Deserts are normally hotter because of the deserts being higher North.
