In the United States, only 24.6% of people prefer tea and 75.4% prefer coffee as their daily drink. Besides, water, tea and coffee are the most popular drinks in the world. Both men and women of all ages love these addictive, caffeinated, and delicious drinks. Although both drinks seem to have similarities, coffee and tea differ in cost, origin, and influence on health.
To begin, many people drink tea over coffee because it is cheaper. Since tea is a drink that people drink on a daily basis, some people prefer to go with the more affordable option. On the other hand, coffee costs more, especially if he/she is using instant coffee packets. Some people, however, enjoy the taste of coffee more and need an energy boost of caffeine for a long day of work and skip the cheaper option.
Moreover, tea and coffee come from different regions. The plant that produces tea, the Camellia Sinensis plant, grows in tropical and subtropical climates, while the coffee bean, the plant that produces coffee, grows in hotter, African climates. The producers of tea and coffee are also from different parts of the world. Tea’s largest producer is China, and other Asian countries, while coffee is produced in mainly Brazil, and more S. American countries. Perhaps the only similarity between tea and coffee in this area is that they both come from evergreen plants from the ground.
Lastly, tea and coffee can both help to cure and prevent diseases. Tea has amazing effects on cancer and heart disease, in contrast to coffee which is useful in Parkinson’s disease and asthma. Additionally, tea is helpful for arthritis and can reduce blood cholesterol. Coffee has other good side effects though like high energy and tastefulness. Evidently, tea and coffee are both helpful and beneficial.
In summary, coffee and tea have many similarities and many differences, in areas like cost, places where they originate, and disease. Tea is cheaper while coffee is more expensive. Tea and coffee originate from different places, yet come from the same type of source. And lastly, they both help in different diseases. That being said, tea and coffee altogether have many differences and similarities.
