Introduction
Bob Marley is a talented singer, musician, and a songwriter. Most people known him for his music. He has had a huge impact on the world inspiring lots of people. He has became a musical and cultural icon in reggae, ska(a music genre in Jamacia), and rocksteady(a music genre in Jamaica).
Early Life
Bob Marley was born on February 6,1945 in St. Ann Parish Jamaica. He lived in Frenchtown which was the poorest neighborhood. When Bob was 10 years old his dad died of a heart attack at the age of 70. Bob Marley and his friend Neville started to sing and play guitar when they were a junior. Later when he was 12, his mom and him moved to Trenchtown to live with his friend Neville and his dad. At the age of 14 he left school got a job as a welder,but then later on quit and focused on his musical talents.
Career
Later on in Bob Marley’s life he settled in western part of Trenchtown, he quickly learned how to defend himself with all the rude people there. Bob meet Peter which has similar passion for music, so together with Neville, Peter and Bob they started writing music, and made a group name called “The Wailing Wailers”in 1963. In 1971 Bob Marley went to Sweden to collaborate with a American singer Johnny Nash, they secured a contract so by 1972 The Wailing Wailers were in London promoting their first single “Reggae’ on broadway. In Bob Marley’s career he sold over 20 million records. Starting in 1076 he got a “Band of the year” award. Then in 1999 The Wailing Wailers got voted for “The best of the century”. But unfortunately Bob died from Melanoma that spread to his lungs and brain in Miami, Florida May 11, 1981.

I picked Bob Marley because I admire his inspiring talents. I couldn’t imagine losing my dad at the age of 10 but still having a great and amazing life with his talents. I also like how all the things he went through he still didn’t give up no matter what he was doing. He just continue to work hard with his band The Wailing Wailers. I learned that you should always go for your goals and never give up, and that you can’t just give up because it hard, and that when you do succeed you can do anything. Bob Marley is truly a remarkable person who is talented, caring and most inspiring person in our world’s history.
