Alcohol will always remain the many unsafe substances, it affects our bodies. Unlike other unsafe drugs, alcohol is much easier to have access to. It can not only harm a person, but it can cause death. Numerous individuals develop more addiction to alcohol to knowledge what you call “waisted” or “drunk”. If society is not responsible when it derives to drinking it possibly will lead to drunk driving or killing someone in an accident.

Individuals consume alcohol for variety of reasons, alcohol can be used in religious churches, some use to socialize, stress that sources extreme drinking, peer pressure, or someone that has an addiction. According to Kubo (2009), “consuming one glass of wine each day, can lower the risk of developing cancer of the esophagus by approximately 56 percent” (Pg. 16). For the rare social drinker alcohol biotransformation beings in the stomach, it produces a small number of enzymes recognized as alcohol dehydrogenase. Alcohol dehydrogenase is dependent on a level of testosterone in the user’s blood.

Biotransformation is the alteration of a substance, such as drugs, alcohol, within the body. As for alcohol flush, it prevents the liver from producing amounts of aldehyde dehydrogenase.

A person will experience symptoms such as dizziness, heart racing and nausea. The level of high blood alcohol can result to individuals with unlike behaviors, different mood swings. Blood levels represent the percentage of alcohol intake in the body. One effect that an individual encounter after 1-2 drinks result to disinhibition effect. The effects of alcohol can lead to hangovers that cause migraines, dehydration, dizziness.

Alcohol effect on the cardiovascular structure, drinkers’ risk of developing coronary heart diseases. Alcohol is more likely more responsible to causing deaths. It is used more than drug abuse. The higher in blood level, the closer the person is to dying from alcohol overdose. However, it is common that several people take medications although drinking alcohol should be avoided, due to risk of internal bleeding, heart problems, and difficulties in breathing. Alcohol can also cause violence in one’s life. Violence is one of the many effects when consuming to much alcohol.

Alcoholism can destroy a close family due to fighting all the time, financial problems, ignoring children. Children can be affected by this due to parents missing out on events, games and after school activities. It is already bad enough for children to think they’re the ones to blame. It may lead to children to feel abandon and with different emotions. Sadly, they can feel afraid of the parents if they drink daily. Another reason can result towards drinking and driving behind the wheel. Driving under the influence is one of the most dangerous situations anyone can put themselves or someone else.

Although, Chapter 4 key points did have a lot of good points about alcohol effects and why people consume alcohol. I was not interested in this chapter due to knowing what can happen to your body if too much alcohol is consumed. There are many consequences to drinking to much, some can result to driving drunk behind the wheel that can lead to being arrested or killing someone.

Other reasons can be health complications, alcohol can interfere with the brain’s communication, behaviors of different moods. Drinking to much can cause high blood pressure, stroke, or even worse death. Nowadays, people drink without realizing how much of it can affect a person. The rare social of drinking is most people require a drink almost every day. That’s why it’s important for families to interact with the person who is dealing with alcoholism and get the right help they need.
