In the story “The Veldt” it seems that technology is a going to be the destruction of mankind. But technology has more pros than cons, and it may be the reason why humans live longer. Technology can advance our education, technology also can ensure that humans live longer, and it allows people to travel quick and swift.
One of the great advantages that technology has is education. Technology has become more of a necessity in classrooms today. One of those things is air condition, air condition is such a simple thing that gives kids and teachers so much. Without air conditioner especially living in florida kids and teacher will not be able to focus in the classroom. Also projectors, projectors make everything a lot bigger and is able to be seen by everyone in the class at once. And electricity within the classrooms is extremely important, just like air condition in a way without electricity children and teachers won’t be able to see in the classroom and once again they will not be able to focus.

Their are people who have lived longer or survived because we have technology that can help the body fight cancer cells. Overdose on drugs are killing tons of people, with technology someone who overdose and is treated properly may live and is able to continue their life. Technology can spot things like cancer or breast cancer. So if a doctor can tell the person if their is something happening within their body the person can do some precautions to ensure that whatever is growing within they can stop or slow it down.

Lastly, technology can enhance our travel throughout the world. Before people would have to travel by foot, horse or boat to get to their destination, but with the advancement of technology were able to go to other countries. Back in the old ages travel from one country to another would probably take weeks, months, or years. But now we have cars and planes, with cars were able to travel short distances more quickly. Traveling to countries their are now planes, these planes allow us to travel across our country quicker or to a different country quicker. Also people who get injured far away from hospitals can be escorted by helicopters, and they can get to the hospital faster.
In conclusion, technology is more of a dream than a nightmare. Because it can advance our education, allows humans to live longer and spot diseases, and it allows travel to be more easier and quick for people.
