Earth has many resources that we need to survive, and if we did not have those resources, we would not be here. Our Earth is covered by a magnetic field which shields us from space radiation, the atmosphere that we breathe and the water we drink are but only a few pivotal resources we rely on, provided to us by our planet. Even though we rely on it does not mean we will always need it to survive because everyday something is evolving or being advanced into something better.
Since there have been many spacecrafts made, scientists have been able to discover many new and interesting things in our solar system. On April 3, 2014 NASA reported evidence that one of the planets in our solar system had a large underground ocean of liquid water which was on Enceladus, the moon of Saturn. Scientists have also found out that Mars has all the resources for life- water, chemicals, and energy but no signs of living organisms yet.
The main reason for that is the surface gravity of Mars is 38% that of Earth, and Mars is also made up of 96% of Carbon Dioxide, 1.9% argon, 1.9% Nitrogen, and traces of free oxygen, carbon monoxide, and methane, among other gases, for a mean molar mass of 43.34g/mol. Also, the surface of the planet Mars is too cold to sustain human life, and agriculture would be hard too due to the climate conditions, but scientists have experimented with the “martian soil” it does in fact make seeds sprout and plants grow. Another planet which can inhabit life is Kepler-62f but cannot obtain human life because the planet is mostly engulfed in water.
But for a planet to be suitable for human life there are many conditions that have to be available considering, firm surface to walk upon, breathable atmosphere, enough available water be stay hydrated, livable climates not too hot not too cold, and there has to be enough gravity so people can walk around comfortably.
We know about which planets can have human life or organism life living on it thanks to the kepler Telescope Mission and here is why, The Kepler Telescope Mission looks for exoplanets which are planets that orbit a star. It looks for brightness changes of stars that occur because a planet passes between the star and us.and it also discovered many elements humans use daily for survival on other planets, but there haven’t been any planets discovered where a human can live a full life without assistance from a astronomer. This proves planets are plentiful, and that maybe one day a planet will be discovered with all the resources needed for a human to live a regular life span.
As of right now, Earth is the only suitable planet we currently live on. Perhaps maybe in the future more discoveries will be made about what is upon us in our solar system and maybe a planet will be discovered which follows all the conditions that a human need to survive. Maybe mars can be the next planet to conduct human life, it may not be soon but perhaps it will happen sooner than scientists believe.
