He had a bad childhood, which contributed to his music. He had a father that was not in his life most of the time. When he had kids with Kimberly Scott, he wrote many songs about his two daughters and especially Hailie Jade Scott Mathers.
In his early years, he was considered as a happy child, but more of a loner, who was bullied a lot in grade school. This continued on into his career. When he became a hip hop artist, the people in the hip hop community was not very accepting of him. The stereotype of hip hop artists being african American, was the ordeal. If you were a white person rapping, you were jeered at. He sings songs that are about this problem like Rap God and Slim Shady.
