J. Robert Oppenheimer is a very interesting guy. At the age of 22 he got his Phd. He was born in Germany. His father was a wealthy german textile. His mother was an artist. Robert went to Harvard several times to study. J.Robert Oppenheimer is an interesting guy. In the starting days Oppenheimer was very talented. When he started going through school he jumped and jumped higher and higher. Then at the age of 22 he got his first Phd. Soon Robert During World War 2 he joined the Manhattan project. The Manhattan Project was when the atomic bomb was born. Some people know Robert as “The father of the bomb.” when the bomb was being created people were wondering what was going on but nobody knew not even the workers. But soon word got out to the people. Once the bombardment was over Robert went on to become a professor.

During World War 2 Robert was also told to gather the greatest scientist ever. Robert gathered all the scientist. Soon they warned the United States of America (U.S). of all the danger with the making of this bomb but the U.S. said build it anyway. When the bomb was finished the U.S. was dealing with another country so they needed another bomb. So, then, the other bomb was created. During one of Roberts speeches he said, “I am become death, destroyer of all worlds.” That is one of Roberts most famous quotes. When people heard that they were frightened. After the bombings Robert went straight to the president. When he went to the president he told him he wanted control over the nuclear weapons over the world. Many of the scientist agreed to it. President Truman said no to the idea and kicked him out.

Robert was angered by this action and took a step forward. He went ahead and tried to do it on his own. When Truman proposed an idea for a new H-bomb Robert opposed it. With these actions comes consequences. When Robert opposed the idea it cost him his job. First, they lowed his wages. Second, they took away his wages. Third, they finally fired Robert from his job. After his death in 1967. People considered him a soviet spy. But ever since the bombings, we have had control over nuclear war that Robert had feared he started. Also after the bombings and the war Robert continued his work with nuclear energy. Robert became a director at the Institute of Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey.

After that job the U.S wanted to develop a hydrogen bomb. Robert of coarse accepted the notion. Robert helped with the bomb for several months, soon the first hydrogen bomb was tested in the U.S in 1952.Soon after the testing. Robert during the red scare was considered a potential threat to society. After the threat was sent out. Roberts security was dimed down to where he was almost nothing.Robert lived a good life. Many people wish they had that kind of popularity. But Robert was kind of a threat to think about it. Robert had all the knowledge about the bomb so he could have went to another country to make one. Robert also had access to all of past war events.

When Robert went to Gottingen he was invited. Max Born invited Robert to Gottingen. Robert accepted the invite. Robert was young when he came to the U.S. Robert was an intelligent man. Robert created, tested, and launched the Atomic bomb. Who would not want to be him.I will give my opinion on J.Robert Oppenheimer. Robert was interesting and all but, think of all the trouble the bomb started. Now in 2018 we have North Korea threatening to bomb the U.S. Robert did fear he would start a nuclear war. There is over 10,000 nuclear bombs in the world. The U.S only owns about 6,000 according to the Arms Control Association.

Where as Russia Has almost 8,000 according to the Arms Control Association. Everyone thinks the U.S has all of them no we don’t Russa does. If you think it all started with Oppenheimer.I do like Robert as a great success. But I do not worship him as many scientist do. I was looking at a video the other day on t.v. It showed what happened after World War 2. It was devastating to watch. I saw hungry children with no homes and no food or water anywhere. Oppenheimer was what teens would say as awesome. He made a big bomb I mean come on. But dig into the reality. Robert made a death machine. Robert did say, “I have become death, destroyer of all worlds.”

Which he really was. When robert gave that speech it moved many people. When I heard about it I thought he is invincible but he wasn’t. When people realized he was a threat he was broke down piece by piece till he was nothing. Robert soon died of diseases. Robert would never be forgot but when I walk up to someone and ask them who he is they say, “No I do not.” So the real question is who knows Robert Oppenheimer. If you read this paper you would know who Robert is. I went all the way back to his childhood. So if someone walks up to you and says who is Robert Oppenheimer? You should say yes. Robert Oppenheimer had many friends Robert was friends with the one and only Albert Einstein. Albert and Robert both worked on the Atomic bomb. Robert did have many friends and had a bad history. Robert always seem to come out on top Robert would always expect the unexpected.

Robert gave up most of his teaching positions. Before the project Robert was teaching at Caltech and gave it up to go do the project. When robert came back many people were asking how he did but he could not tell or he was dead. Some people say why would you die if you tell. Because if he gave away that info to the wrong person they would go tell another country and then we all would be dead. Robert would never tell anyone but people figured it out after his death. Many people think that Robert had many secrets but he really didn’t. Robert was born in Germany And came to the U.S. Robert helped the U.S with a bomb for Japan and it worked. So the U.S wanted one for Germany.

Robert denied to help with the bomb. His excuse was that in would call for another World War.Robert did have many excuses but they did all make sense because nobody would believe him. Robert was trying to make some sense to people. The U.S would never believe Robert and they thought that he was a threat but he was only trying to inform the people. Robert was a threat to us but I know he would not have told. Robert once was a chemist. He went to caltech. Robert Oppenheimer was an interesting guy. Robert was also a threat to society. So, what is your take on Oppenheimer. Robert Oppenheimer was the wonder of the world during World War 2.
